Perfect and Exactly as Advertised

This property was exactly as advertised. Everything was clean and the hosts were easy to communicate with. The house is located a little out of the way, but that was what we were looking for. During our trip, we visited the Great Smokies and Asheville, and the property location made it easy to do both.

Great wedding location

We chose this home for our summer elopement. Everything was beautiful. The home has many photo ops. The details that were put into this home were so well thought out. The hot tub is very clean & large. Visiting with the cows, chickens, cats, donkey, peacocks, and goats added a great bonus of our trip. The property is beautiful. Kitchen was fully stocked with all that you could need. This was a beautiful location! Everyone who was there for our big day complimented the home and all the lovely details. Donna was always just a text away with an immediate response. 10/19 recommend!

Amazing get away

This house was perfect for the adults in our family to escape the rat race. From having coffee on the back patio every morning to drinks in the hot tub under the stars, it was amazing. We had everything we needed for a week of relaxation. We loved it so much that we will be back very soon.

Anniversary trip

We can’t say enough about this property and the amazing hosts… Donna and Glen !!!! Everything was absolutely perfect. The house was so beautifully appointed and comfortable. Everything we need was there. The grounds were beyond gorgeous. Quiet and scenic. A fire pit out back generously stocked with wood. Acres of land to explore… ( take the tour with the hosts if offered.. a fun ride and the bonus of seeing their animals. A quiet location a bit out of town but not too far. Plenty of room to spread out and a pool table to enjoy a game. The hot tub was a welcome retreat at the end of a long day and the THREE! Fireplaces made it very cozy. We would recommend this place highly. One of the best VRBOs we’ve used. Thanks again Glen and Donna for a phenomenal home away from home If in the area we’d be more than tempted to stay here again!!!!

Completely Magical

Our stay at the farmhouse was nothing short of magical. We were able to coordinate with Donna to have our small elopement on the property with a lovely intimate family dinner afterwards. The house is immaculate with every need thought of. It's so beautiful and spacious and the grounds are so wonderful. The welcome basket was such a nice touch and Donna was so gracious to give us a tour of the property and advise us on a nice spot for our ceremony. I loved all the cute farm animals and the friendly cats. The neighbors dog and cats are so sweet and friendly as well. We had such a good time and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you Donna and Glenn for sharing such a warm and special place.

The Payne House is clean, beautiful, well appointed, very comfortable and even the wonderful pictures don't do it justice!!! Donna and Glen were accommodating in way and went above and beyond to made our stay enjoyable. You will not be disappointed in this home!!!!!

Picturesque, peaceful, and perfect!

The house is stunning! Every detail has been thought through and the decor was absolutely the picture of relaxed luxury. The instructions for check in and check out were simple and the home is stocked with everything you need for a mountain getaway. The location is so perfect and we loooooved seeing the peacocks, donkey, and goats! I could not be happier that we chose this location for our getaway! Can’t wait to book again!

Perfect girls weekend

Absolutely beautiful home and exactly as described. We stayed for a long weekend and had a great time. House is beautifully decorated and stocked very well. The coffee/tea set up was a really nice little bonus! We enjoyed using the hot tub and there wasn’t a single thing we felt was missing. WiFi worked great (one of my friends was able to teach a virtual class while we were there) which was a nice perk when you are staying somewhere rural. Host was easy to communicate with and left the nicest welcome basket for us. Would definitely love to stay here again it is one of the best houses I’ve rented through Vrbo.

Absolutely amazing

The house is beautiful in the photos, but when we arrived, we were blown away. It's even better in real life. It's cozy where you want it to be and sleek/updated where it matters. I enjoyed early mornings in the chess corner with a cozy fire, and my friends stayed up late every night in the hot tub. We had 6 people comfortably in the house without feeling cramped at all. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and would gladly go back any time.

Christmas Charm

Our Family traveled from South Florida, Tennessee, and Mississippi to enjoy the beauty of this old farm house over Christmas. We experienced a nice tour and history lesson of the property and meet the Peacocks, Goats, and Chickens. The craftsmanship and charm of the renovated farm house is top notch. Our family enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, playing pool, chess, and going on hikes. Great place for your family to reconnect without the distractions of everyday life. Definitely a 5 star all around.

New Year’s Get Together/ ski trip

My family and I absolutely enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse. The interior of the home was one of the most beautifully decorated homes that we have ever seen. Not only was it well furnished with whatever we needed, it was extremely comfortable. The owners have thought of everything, and so, we wanted for nothing during our visit. We were worried at first that it may have been too remote, but found that we didn’t want to leave and head into Asheville because the home offers so much- great entertainment, ample relaxation opportunities, and quality family time, Be sure to explore the property because there is so much to see. We will definitely be returning.

YOU SHOULD STAY HERE! Everyone in our party loved the house. It had everything you could think of and need. The amenities were awesome. Would recommend to anymore. The layout is great for a getaway to spending time with family/friends. 15/10!

Beautiful Victorian Farmhouse

Everything was perfect, from the house and all that it had available, including a hot tub, pool table, beautiful property, and fully equipped kitchen. The hosts were so easy to communicate with and any need we had was taken care of quickly. The home was dreamy with all the wood accents and fireplaces that it just made you feel at home. It was truly a memorable time spent with family in a spectacular place. Taking the kids to see the animals was very special and they loved it.

Absolutely loved it!!

We had an awesome time staying here. It had everything that we needed and more. Our teenage son didn't get bored at all and that says a lot! We kept the pool table hot the whole time.😊 There's really not much more you can ask for. It was a very peaceful mini vacation for us. We would love to visit again! Just one thing to keep in mind.... We didn't have cell phone service at all and weren't able to make any calls (which was nice to have our phones quiet) but it seems that would be a problem, in an emergency situation. This is notated in the description of the home and I'm not complaining at all. Just want others to be aware. You would not be disappointed with this home! We highly recommend it! I would like to thank the homeowners for everything! This was my first time using VRBO and they made it so easy. Thank you so much! ☺️ B.G.

Above and beyond expectations!

A perfect vacation in the mountains. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The house had everything you could want. Not too far from stores for grocery runs and day activities in Asheville. Owner Donna, was gracious and gave a tour of the acreage and animals on the farm. We hit peak of leaf color and spent each evening at the fire pit roasting s’mores and hot dogs. The drive up the mountain and the house is breathtaking. We couldn’t believe that we “scored” so well😃

Black Reunion

What a great stay to see the old home where my husbands family lived three generations ago. Charming and comfortable! Definitely book a stay at this charming VRBO. Melinda Payne was the person who built to hone but don’t think she ever lived there according to the locals. Should really be named the Black homestead as 3 generations of the Black’s lived in the home. Thanks again!!

Amazing Home & Experience.

The Payne House is a true gem! Full of charm, warmth and heart to create the most beautiful experience no matter the length of time spent there. Great for families, couples, or a girls/guys trip, (FYI. home is right off the road for those with children). Kitchen was very well stocked, from coffees to teas, dishes, pots & pans, and spices they even had the most awesome welcome basket filled with cookies, nuts, bars, and more! Bathrooms were perfectly set up, bubble bath, shampoo & conditioner, even body wash. Bedrooms were beautiful especially that sunflower bed! Just WOW. (No TV in master, thought it would be an issue but it was a much needed break) we were too tired anyway and after a hot tub therapy session, who needs a TV? The home was excellent. Donna & Glen, hosts extraordinaire, very easy communications, awesome guides on their mini farm with cows, ducks, chickens, roosters, peacocks, and goats. Last but not least the kitties who greeted us. We got to feed them bread and apples. Clean, stocked, and welcoming with tons to do inside and out. If your on the fence about this one, hit the reserve now button! We are sorry we didn’t get to stay longer! Thank you Donna & Glen for sharing your home & giving us an experience.

Amazing!

This place is a GEM! Hands down the best we have stayed at. It is tucked into the stunning Blue Ridge mountains so it’s perfect if you are seeking a little peace and quiet. You will have a little drive to Asheville but it is less than 30 minutes. The owners thought of everything to make this place top notch - pool table, chess table, gas fireplaces (yea, more than one), stocked kitchen, table big enough for family dinner or games, large Smart TV, wireless speakers you can Bluetooth to and enjoy your fav playlists, hot tub under the stars and a fire pit with everything you need. It’s all the details for me that made it feel like a resort. The owners were great at communication and answered any questions we had. We truly loved our stay there and have already recommended this place to friends and family.

Beautiful home!

We had a great stay. The house is beautifully restored. It was well stocked and impeccably clean. The property is beautiful. We enjoyed roaming the farm and meeting the animals. Glenn and Donna were perfect hosts. The farm fresh eggs and shitake mushrooms were a particular treat!
