Disappointing communication with property manager/owner; terrible Placer County/Northstar parking
One of the main reasons we selected this home was bc of the hot tub; but while driving up to the cabin we received an email stating the hot tub was not working.
We called the property manager Tahoe Getaway who initially said the part wouldn't arrive until after our 7 day stay. At this point it would seem reasonable to extend some credit, but there was no offer. We called, expressed our disappointment. A handyman came on Tuesday, no change. If a vendor came as promised on Thursday, no change. Very disappointed not to receive compensation for the hot tub not available for use.
Evening #2, we had friends over for dinner. They parked their two cars along the street at the bottom of the driveway. Less than 90 minutes later, we received a knock on our door where two parking police from Placer County informed us of a ticket for $1,500 (two $750 tickets, one for each vehicle), claiming we were in violation of the HOA rules. According to the police, prior to issuing a citation, the owner or their agent are supposed to afford the guests 60 minutes to move their cars (which any sane person would do), but we never received a call, text or email telling us to move the cars..just the ticket. That night, Tahoe Getaways charged my credit card for the $1,500. We are actively challenging this charge with our bank.
Regardless of our active dispute of fraudulent charge by Tahoe Getaways, we still expect a refund of some sort for the broken hot tub.
