Double booking at this location

I have communicated with the host (Bob) few days before my stay. My last communication with Bob was a day before our visit. We reached late evening at the property and was planning to make a meal and sleep. We found that someone else already in the house. The host's nephew let them in as they said that they booked the property. It was then found out that the property was double booked. Bob helped us to book two rooms in the town (Minor's inn) and paid for it. I would not have booked the motel myself but was grateful to have a clean place to sleep. My family was very disappointed. Bob probably needs to find out how the cottage was double booked and prevent it in the future.

Property owner was very communicative. Property was amazing. Very nice and clean. House was very well stocked, coffee, soap, detergent, etc. About 42 miles to Yosemite Village. Lots of dining options within 20 min.

What a fantastic property!

This is a truly special property with everything that we needed and in a lovely setting with loads of birds and other wildlife. The only negative for me is that as a base to explore Yosemite it is a bit too far away. although it is about an hour and a quarter to the two closest entry points to the park it is then another further 30 minutes to an hour to many of the main park locations. It's okay if you are visiting once but if you plan to go everyday it's a bit of a drive.

A Peaceful Stay in Mariposa

We spent just one night at this lovely cabin home on our travels back from visiting Yosemite. The home was very clean and well-maintained. The location was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay and would have appreciated another night there. While waiting for check-in time, we located Sierra Cider’s Cidery just a couple of miles away and spent a fun time sampling some flights, enjoying the scenery, and chatting with the owners. We learned that the owner is from our state of Michigan! I would recommend it as a location to visit! We did not find two of the winery recommendations on the VRBO listing as they have closed. Thanks for the nice stay at your home!

Perfect getaway location

Bob's cedar log cabin is a wonderful place to enjoy peace and quiet and to relax. It's one of the best properties we have stayed at and matches the description perfectly. It is clean, spacious and has all of the conveniences one can ask for.It is within an hours drive of the Yosemite Valley and Mariposa Grove entrances to the Yosemite National Park as well as Bass Lake. Will definitely come back again.

Rustic Country Home Log Cabin Property Near El Portal Entrance for Yosemite Valley

Beautiful log cabin home for the family! Mariposa, closest town to El Portal Yosemite Entrance 30-40 minutes away because the road is curvy so we were driving very slow. This home had all the modern luxuries, granite countertops, travertine, glass showers and tub, washer and dryer. We had dinner at Charles High Street which had great steaks, homemade caesar salad dressing, and french onion soup with roasted garlic, yum! Getting back to the home, it was clean, quiet and comfortable! Will return again if we ever visit Yosemite! Thank you Bob and Elinor! 5 stars all around for your property!

This log cabin is very well maintained and fully furnished with charming decor. It is located about 1.5 hrs from the Arches Yosemite gate. We were 3 couples and this house is better suited for families with kids. The futon bed in the study was very small for two people and the third bedroom has bunk beds. The master bedroom was lovely with a huge en-suite bathroom. The only comment was the AC vent in the master bdrm is located in the ceiling above the head of the bed making it drafty and noisy during the night. The kitchen was well stocked with nice appliances. The owners provided a lot of nice touches such as menus from nearby restaurants, a computer with Wi-Fi, books and games. On the downside, I never received any communication from the owner up to the day before our check in so after messaging through Expedia and VRBO, I called him on his cellphone. He gave me the code for the front door and despite living on the same property, never had any other contact with Bob. I texted him to keep him apprised of our arrival time and when we were checking out but never got any response at all which is unusual compared to other rentals I’ve done in the past.

Beautiful well kept up cabin in Mariposa. The property was beautiful. We enjoyed the comfort and cleanliness of the cabin. It was nice to bbq outside and have a place to relax and enjoy the watching the stars at night. We really enjoyed our stay and would rent this cabin again. Its about an hour from Yosemite and and a little over an hour to Mariposa Grove. Well worth the drive.
