We had travelled from LA on Route 66 stopping at 12 hotels along the way. We purposefully booked Clardige House as our last stop as we saw the photos and wanted to be somewhere a but more up market. Unfortunately the welcome we received was terrible, not even a smile. We were asked during our 3 night stay if we wanted our room cleaned to which we said yes and asked for twice. The room was not cleaned at all, when I questioned this on our last night they apologised and said they would send some new towels. They sent two towels and two bath mats, 20 minutes later some more towels were delivered. When checking out we again aired our frustrations, which were put down to "hiccups" by the supervisor which was disappointing, no apology was given straight away. We are supposed to be getting the amenities fee back but are yet to receive it. Such a shame to end our holiday like this. The area Claridge house is in is amazing. It just feels they took our money and didn't care.
