We had a fantastic stay and couldn’t have asked for better accommodations or amenities. The kitchen and bathrooms were fully stocked with everything we needed, which made settling in easy. One feature we especially loved was the boot and glove warmer—it kept all our gear dry, warm, and ready to go each day. The new washer and dryer were also a big plus and free to use.The upstairs views through the panoramic windows were stunning, especially with fresh snow falling. It was incredibly relaxing to enjoy the scenery while staying cozy by the fireplace and listening to music on the sound system.There was no shortage of entertainment either, with plenty of options like board games, video games, a large TV, cards, ping pong, and a pool table—something for everyone.What stood out most, though, was the owner’s outstanding communication. They took extra time to make sure we were comfortable, answered all of our questions, and checked in to ensure our stay was stress-free. Their helpful recommendations for groceries and local spots made the experience even better.

4th of July weekend

We had the perfect stay! We saw a bunch of moose, a baby deer, we got to experience the Brighton parade, and had a great BBQ with the outdoor speakers! The location and property are unbelievable and we will definitely be back!

Perfect spot to ski or watch the snow come down

We loved our family stay at Slopeside! Brighton is not a built-up area, and we were thrilled to find this convenient (across from the Great Western Lift) yet peaceful location (views of slopes and across the meadow to mountain peaks). Kate was responsive from booking throughout our stay, and helped us so much (we loved placing an online grocery order and picking up on way from the airport; we needed a shuttle from airport to the property midweek for our college son who joined us; we had questions about rental car companies with proper tires for snow; etc.). We rested so well in between skiing Brighton as well as Solitude 5 min away. We played lots of games and ping-pong, cooked while watching the gorgeous views out the giant windows; and had wonderful family time together. Being able to come back to the house for lunch was amazing, and each member of the group could head out to ski or back in to rest according to their own needs, since Slopeside is so close to the slopes. We had days of spring skiing and sitting with a beer on the deck and then very cold weather with a foot of snow over 24 hours and amazing powder to ski in. Amazing long ski season that actually worked for our late spring break.We are already mentally planning our return. We loved Slopeside!

Great cabin for a ski vacation

We've stayed in a few properties up at Brighton and this is one of our favorites. It's the closest you can get to the lifts, which was a huge plus for us especially with kids/teens who like to come in and out a lot from the mountain. The cabin itself was super cozy, clean, comfortable, and had great windows so you could take in the views and didn't feel too enclosed. The hosts were incredibly responsive and gracious - you could tell they wanted to make sure we had a great trip.

Home Away From Home

Stop your search, look no further, this is the PERFECT property for your vacation in Brighton! Not enough words to describe this beautiful home - but the key takeaways are: 2 minute walk from lift, perfectly appointed home with full kitchen, laundry, pool table, space for everyone to spread out, cozy, games galore, sound system and AMAZING VIEWS. But, I think what meant the most to me as the organizer was the prompt, gracious and insightful responses I received from the host, Kate Novak. The absolute BEST VRBO experience we have had in our 15 years of travel with a family. We are contemplating a trip for a summer adventure because of the perfect time we had during winter at their HOME AWAY FROM HOME!

Great location and great property in Brighton

Very clean. Across the street from Great Western Lift. Great large capacity boot & glove dryer. Fully equipped kitchen. Great windows and views. Kate communicated often and clearly. Would definitely book again for skiing at Brighton.

Amazing Mountain Getaway

We loved that it was nestled right in the trees. Mornings with moose, loads of fun playing billards and hours spent bird watching on the deck. Room for our two families (10) and loaded ameneties.

Such a gem!

This place really can't be beat. The property is a kid's dream. It's basically the hundred acre wood with a creek running through it. The proximity to Silver Lake and the store was super convenient! We also loved just hanging out inside and playing games. My kids will be begging to go back!

Location is everything-closest single family property to Great Western Express lift and Brighton Center-walk less than 5 minutes to either, no need to endure the Brighton commute/parking chaos Well maintained, well appointed, amazing views from the living area The Novaks are very attentive, gracious and helpful hosts. This is the place to stay if Brighton is your choice for adventure

Fantastic in every way!

I can’t say enough! Easy check-in, great communication with the owners who are so kind and responsive, perfect location just walking distance from Great Western (and you can technically ski-in if the road is snowy!). The kitchen has everything you need including spices, storage containers. Plenty of room for our group of 6 adults and 1 child to all hang out upstairs listening to music/cooking/playing games or to all chill downstairs and watch a movie. Ski storage, boot heater for all 7 of us, rack to hang your ski jacket and helmet on so you don’t have to keep it in your room. Plenty of hot water for all of us to shower! Thanks for everything, Kate and Bill! We will be back!

Ideal Location in Big Cottonwood!

Tremendous location just steps from the Great Western lift! Kate was super helpful leading up to our stay as well as during our time there, great communication and helpful tips to make our stay even more enjoyable. No need to drive anywhere and sit in traffic, Slopeside was the perfect location for our family to enjoy a stress-free week of skiing and being together. Highly recommend!

Best Family Vacation Says All

I am not sure what was most wonderful, the 30-40 inches of powder over 3 days of skiing, the amazing games, ping pong and pool we played in the home, the wonderful dinners we could all make together and sit and eat with ample space in a spacious kitchen and dining table for King Arthur, the cleanliness and impeccable organization and layout of the place, walking to the lift for first tracks and popping in for home made lunches, watching the sun rise as the snow falls beside a warming “wood” burning stove at that comes to life with the flick of a switch, or how absolutely amazing these property owners are! The host bent over backwards to be sure there was not a single flaw in what all my kids said was the best skiing days of their lives! If I missed anything, that was awesome too!

Cozy well maintained cabin with the best location in town

Our five days stay in this property during New Year's celebration was one of the best vacations in many years. It has the best location in Brighton with beautiful views and short walk distance to lifts, ski school, local convenience store and about everything else. That is a great value as the resort gets tremendous amount of traffic and lack of parking during high season. The cabin itself is stylishly decorated with neat good quality furniture and home goods. It is very clean and has about everything one might need. Especially, we appreciated linens and pillows, fresh towels, neat kitchen pans, nice clean fridge and washing machine, fresh carpets, all that many rentals fail to maintain. The house is well-built whith sealed windows, good quiet heating system and large dryer for clothes and ski boots. Best feature ever!!! We also enjoyed cabin's great selection of books, several TV subscription services and ping pong. Kate and Bill, the cabin owners are locals and have been very helpful with our requests, questions and local contacts. Brighton got several feet of snow during our stay and we were very thankful for daily plow services on the property. When in Brighton again, we will surely stay in this cabin and only.

Snowboarding Disneyland!

We stayed at Slopeside with our teen snowboarders, who were able to come and go to Brighton all day. They were over the moon when they found the jump (‘jib’) in the cabin’s back yard, and spent a great deal of time practicing on it after the lifts closed. There was plenty of room, abundant cotton linens, soaps, kitchen supplies, etc. for all 5 of us. Fun board games, great Wifi, big tv in the basement, tools to adjust gear, a heated boot/glove drying rack, super cool decor. Wonderful kitchen is equipped with excellent quality appliances and tools; it was fun to use. Kate was incredibly responsive and accommodating. A truly dreamy ski cabin! We rented a 4x4 truck, which was great to have when the snow piled up. Kate had the driveway plowed after a big storm. Equipment rentals at Brighton Resort were great. Glad we bought all our groceries in the city; Brighton store is not well equipped- think gatorade and souvenirs. Hope to return next year!

Spring Break at Brighton

Very comfortable, sunny, spacious, and well kept residence that is walking distance to Brighton Center and the lifts. Very well appointed with a variety of games and entertainment for all ages. We really enjoyed our time here and Kate, the host, was extremely accommodating and available. Highly recommend.

Boarding and Fireworks

Kate’s cabin was about the closest cabin you can get to the Great Western lift at Brighton. We lucked out and stayed on Brighton’s 85th anniversary; the cabin’s huge windows gave us front row seats to watch the fireworks show. Great location, amazing cabin, and perfect stay. Thanks Kate, we will be back!
