I totally enjoyed the staff the overall essence of the establishment Jocelyn our waitress was so very magnificent polite efficient & also nice to the upmost respect. Jocelyn was always on top of everything she especially friendly Jocelyn even got to know us because she remembered everyone name within our party of eleven people. I truly believe within my heart & soul by far Jocelyn DESERVES A $25 American dollars & hour added toward her hourly pay amongst other waitress & staff . The food was amazing Jocelyn was always there for us she is the best most phenomenal woman . & Mexican Brian from mts was also excellent he helped us on our excursions & our transportation. I jus wanna say from the time I arrived at occidental tacancun myself & my girlfriend was treated with the upmost respect & honor amongst help & excellent service from beginning to end . Also the entire hotel staff from front to middle to back the cooks janitorial was A-ONE PRIMO the best OCCIDENTAL TACANCUN is one of a kind & very very clean & sanitized food drinks pool staff I appreciate everything I will most definitely be back i thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart to the top of my soul occidental tacancun is highly favored & highly recommend

The property has an amazing beach and ocean views. The pool area was nice but only had lounge chairs some higher chairs would be nice, The food was not as nice as in the past less food options and lower quality food. The rooms were in need of upgrades had mold and corrosion in the shower no wash cloth and no in room temperature control.

I will always try and book this property 1st for their staff! Ive been going to this property for over 10 yrs and the same staff greets us and takes such good care of us the entire time ♡ The hotel itself has held up great over the years, they have updated where needed and I have zero complaints about the food quality or rooms. They really have the most beautiful spot on the beach and a perfect spot in the hotel area for walking, shopping or just having other great marina restaurants near by. Do yourself a favor and stay here....tip your servers well they bust their butts daily for everyone while having the biggest smile. (Yes its all-inclusive but you should still tip! You never leave a table without tipping at home!) My advise...bring lots of small bills and share them with every meal and drink...it means a lot to show them their service matters!

Rooms comfortable, view beautiful, entertainment great, food not so good, and never could get reservations at restaurant. Stuck with buffet only. Claimed to be sold out by 7:30am each morning. The only time you could make a reservation was the day of when you wanted the reservation. They opened at 7:00 and by 7:30am both restaurants sold out? Not buying it. Also, majority of staff spoke very little English, so not real convenient.

The property was nicely situated close to stores, room maintenance and cleaning was very good, bartends are great, activities for the guests are nice and fun. The negative reviews would be that the AC inside the room is controlled by the resort that it was pretty hot inside considering coming from a warm temperature outdoor that we have to open the window all night to get a breeze , luckily for us, it gave us a bit of a relief from the warm temp since it’s windy but we have to find ways ignore the wave and wind noise . On our last day, there was a maintenance that was being worked on somewhere close to our room that the whole room was filled with burnt plastic smell that made us hard to breathe that prompted us to act and call the concierge to report the whole issue, Our call was transferred 4 times to different departments that we ended up waiting for someone to come up to address the issue but after about 30 mins of waiting, we decided to just walk down to the main desk to report it directly to one of the staff in person and just then that the issue was finally attended to. And another thing, I wish there were more options on the menu in the buffet , maybe other type of cuisine aside from Mexican and Italian pastas and pizza . Overall, we still enjoyed our stay .and would still stay at Qccidental Tucancún . Thanks again .
