A State of Disrepair
Property was in disrepair on many dimensions and instructions on how to access and use the amenities was poor (interactions were friendly but not effective). We were initially locked out of the property as the keypad did not work (we eventually got in from an UNLOCKED back door). There was no "information about the property and area" document (which we have received at virtually all other properties), so we had to figure out everything on our own. One major result is that we did not get access to several rooms of the property until the day before we left (locked doors suggested the rooms were not part of the rental). A portion of the back yard was unfinished (ugly, dirty). There was a pile of animal feces collected and left on the ground by the pool. Broken items included an outdoor sun umbrella (a piece of junk, clearly not in operating condition); a desk chair (that fell apart when one of us sat in it); the ice maker; the door lock. There are many porches and stairs without railings that I would not want young children or elderly people to navigate. We were in regular contact with the management, but no one ever came to the house. After all of this they gave us a 3% refund. 3%!!! And did not explain how they arrived at this paltry amount. We traveled on a holiday weekend and, in the end, they gouged us.
