The warmer months of the year bring the city to life with hiking and biking trails, dozens of breweries and amazing restaurants, museums, and plenty of outdoor adventures. In winter, locals and tourists alike head up to Spirit Mountain to hit the slopes, flock to the trails in their cross country skis, and skate frozen lakes. Set right on the waterfront and in the heart of downtown, Fitgers Inn offers amazing views and plenty of different room types to accommodate different sized families. It’s near the Lake Superior Maritime Museum, which kids will love, and is connected to a historic shopping center featuring locally owned stores and lots of quick and easy food options.

Just a short walk to the famed Aerial Lift Bridge, families will love staying at Pier B Resort. AMSOIL Arena, where the UMD hockey teams play, is also nearby so hockey fans will be delighted! Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Duluth

This brand new resort opened in March of 2021 and has received heaps of praise so far, especially for its friendly, helpful staff. With an ideal location in Park Point, guests are within walking distance of the Lake Superior waterfront and the restaurants at Canal Park.
