By very special invitation, I’m lucky, thrilled and humbly flattered to be present for the first performance of Amélie on Broadway! I’ll be in New York City for an extra special treat– a behind-the-scenes look at the show and a meeting with the cast. I can’t wait!

Follow along on Twitter and Instagram so you can get a sneak peek too. Here’s what to expect on my upcoming trip.

Times Square New York City
  • My first stop is Times Square, the hub of the Broadway Theater District and as some call it, “The Crossroads of the World.” I’m looking forward to seeing those brightly lit, colorful signs in person!

  • Up next is the Walter Kerr Theatre, where the musical Amélie is opening. Right now, the show is in previews, which means the show is running a short set of performances before the official opening night. This allows the director, cast and crew to put the finishing touches on the production before the show opens to the critics. Lucky for me, I get to attend one such performance.
  • After I pick up my tickets at the box office, I’ll be led backstage to get a peek behind the curtain and rub elbows with the actors. I’ll be early enough to see the warm-up and prep that goes into a Broadway production.

  • There’s one cast member I’m most eager to meet. If you see the show, you’ll know why.
  • And of course, last but not least, I get to see the live production of Amélie on stage! I’m positive the show will be just as splendid as I expect it to be.

Alas, it’s a brief trip to the Big Apple for me this week. Who knows? This may pave the way for more opportunities for gnome star-studded casts in the future. I better get some headshots ready, just in case!
