Getting In
We spent a week in the town of Nuevo Vallarta, an easy 20 minute drive north of Puerto Vallarta International Airport. Our hotel of choice? The luxury, all-inclusive Dreams Villamagna, located right on beautiful Banderas Bay with fantastic views of the Sierra Madre Mountains.
Luxury Suites
Right on arrival, we were greeted with refreshing cool towels and glasses of champagne. Dreams Villamagna is an all-inclusive hotel and all rooms are Junior Suites, with beautiful freestanding tubs, plush beds and a fully stocked minibar full of beer, soft drinks and snacks. There’s even a whirlpool on the terrace!
If you want to upgrade, consider becoming a Preferred member like we did. You can take advantage of extra amenities, like access to the private lounge which offers continental breakfast in the mornings, afternoon hors d’oeuvres,and desserts with fine liquor in the evenings. Preferred Club guests also receive extra amenities in their rooms, like luxury bath products, a Nespresso coffee machine and a pillow menu!
No matter which room type you choose, Dreams Villamagna has just 229 guestrooms in total, giving it a boutique feel with personalized attention and luxury service.
Special Occasions
Whether you’re visiting Mexico on a couples getaway or as a family vacation, Dreams Villamagna pays attention to the details. We saw a room fully decked out for kids with balloons, stuffed animals and coloring books. For weddings, Dreams Villamagna has 3 beach-side venues that couples can choose from to hold their reception and dinner. The resort has a rule that only 1 wedding can occur each day, so your big day is guaranteed to be special.
The best part? It’s truly an all-inclusive experience. Dreams Villamagna offers Unlimited Luxury, where nearly everything is included.
On Site Dining
There are 7 restaurants on site to choose from, including 5 a la carte restaurants, a buffet and an excellent café. From authentic Mexican at El Patio restaurant to sushi on the rooftop lounge Gohan, Dreams Villamagna offers variety and convenience. We loved the seafood at Oceana and stopped by Coco Café frequently to get our cup of java – the coffee shop is open 24 hours!
Want to truly unwind? You can stay in and order room service (all included!) or enjoy a romantic dinner in your suite! As part of the package, international and domestic top shelf spirits, wines and beers are complimentary so you can relax, without having to worry about wristbands. Our favorite way to spend the afternoon was by the heated pool and conveniently, the Marlin Bar is right next door to serve up drinks!
Activities
If you prefer the ocean, we found the waves calm and refreshing. Nuevo Vallarta has some of the most beautiful beaches, where you can kayak, snorkel or scuba dive. The town is especially famous for world class golf, and guests at Dreams Villamagna can tee off at the nearby professional golf course with complimentary green fees. From tennis to ping pong to tequila tastings and bike tours, there’s lots to do at and around the resort.
Want a break from the heat? Try the whirlpool tub right on your balcony and have a view of the ocean. Or, splurge for an afternoon at the Dreams Spa, which offers massages, facials and body treatments (for an additional fee). Our favorite? The hydrotherapy experience which took us through Swiss showers, pressure showers, saunas and steam rooms! We left refreshed and soothed.
