With travel restrictions still keeping Americans from visiting a whole bunch of places, bucket lists are getting longer and longer. The second best thing to actually traveling is daydreaming about where you’ll go next. Whether you had to reschedule trips planned for 2020 or you just got a bad case of cabin fever and need something to look forward to right now, bookmarking travel for the future is always a good idea. Lately, we’ve been dreaming about pasta, wine and all things Italian, so we’ve put together 9 incredible hotels, guesthouses and vacation rentals you can book for later this year, when (hopefully) we can all visit Italy again.

SoprArno Suites: Florence
Breakfast is included at this stunning guesthouse right in the heart of Florence. The SoprArno Suites consist of 10 rooms, a bar lounge, and a common area where coffee and tea are served. The rooms all have insanely high ceilings, making them feel beyond spacious. The Ponte Vecchio is just 6 minutes away and the Uffizi Gallery is just a 10-minute walk from the property, making the location of the guesthouse ideal.
Castellana Grotte trulli house: Puglia
A stay at this Puglia vacation rental doesn’t guarantee a thousand new Insta followers, although we do love how these traditional dry-stone dwellings with a conical roof have been all the IG rage lately. This one comes with a private pool, a garden featuring barbecue grills, kitchen, fireplace and 2 bedrooms. The Castellana Caves are only 6 miles away and the coast is only about 20 minutes away so yeah, there’s that.
Sina Palazzo Sant’Angelo: Venice
Located in the San Marco neighborhood of Venice, this lovely boutique hotel offers canal views in a few of their rooms, so be sure to book appropriately. The property is in the city center, just a few minutes from the boardwalk and a short walk to La Fenice Opera House and Rialto Bridge. The 26 rooms are spacious and luxurious, and breakfast is served each morning for a small fee—a lovely way to grab a quick bite before heading out to explore!
Residenze della Città: Milan
This gorgeously appointed apartment is ideal for travelers visiting Milan on a shopping spree. You’ll be near Teatro all Scalla and Pinacoteca di Brera, and within walking distance of plenty of amazing restaurants. The apartment is broken into several different bookings. Some rooms can accommodate up to 4 people, perfect for a small family or perhaps two couples traveling together for the trip of a lifetime.
Baglioni Hotel Regina: Rome
Right in the heart of Rome, this beautiful hotel is a work of art. Rich colors greet you in the large, gorgeously decorated rooms, most of which have lovely views of Rome. The staff here are incredibly kind and helpful (we once lost a passport and they spent hours assisting until we found it!) and will be delighted to make meal reservations for you, or recommend favorite local hangouts. Only a short 10-minute walk to the Spanish Steps and a bit further to the Trevi Fountain, you’re surrounded by ancient ruins and cultural highlights.
Altido Seaview Apartment: Portofino
It doesn’t get much more postcard-perfect than Portofino, a charming fishing village and must-visit destination when visiting the Italian Riviera. We like that this one-bedroom apartment offers harbor views and a picturesque setting without having to sacrifice creature comforts. This snug yet modern seaside rental includes a full kitchen, living area, WiFi and a flat-screen TV with digital channels. But mind those low ceilings in the bedroom!
Grand Hotel Parkers: Naples
The chic design and cool, soothing color palette of this lovely property will immediately draw you in. The rooftop offers killer views of the city, and the city-center location makes it the perfect home base for exploring. The suites offer a bit more room to spread out (think sofas in sitting areas and larger balconies) but the standard rooms are just as lovely if you’re traveling with just one companion. The hotel has two restaurants as well as a bar, so you’ll have plenty of food and beverage options if you need a night in!
Old Town Montepulciano Apartment: Tuscany
You’ll have the entire apartment to yourself when you rent this 5-star property. Located in the highest point in the village of Montepulciano, you’ll be rewarded with beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside. The 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment sleeps 6 people, so it’s perfect for a family or friends traveling together. The only requirement is enjoying wine, since you’re in wine country!
Hotel Eden Roc: Amalfi Coast
Positano is one of those places that looks just like a postcard. If it isn’t already on your bucket list, add it pronto. Every direction you look is a gorgeous view, from the ocean views to the seemingly endless stack of homes etched into the cliffside. Hotel Eden Roc has plenty of different room types, depending on who you’re traveling with, and nearly all have seaside views. The beautiful pool, spa and restaurant create an environment you’ll never want to leave, especially after months of working from home!
Elegant House: Capri
This 2-bedroom, 2-bath home sleeps 5 people and you’ll have the entire place to yourself when you book it. It’s just 10-minutes from the famed Piazetta and even closer to the nightclubs along Via Camerelle, if by chance you came to Capri to party. The balcony is beautiful and the large kitchen will allow you to make a few meals at home during your stay, if you wish. This home will be the perfect pace to return to after a day exploring the grottos and swimming in the sea!.
