Planning a family vacation and don’t know where to start? There are lots of great family travel apps out there that can make your trip easier, more enjoyable and more memorable. We’ve partnered with Tesa Nicolanti of 2 Wired 2 Tired, as she shares the top family travel apps.

Did you know that as of this summer, the Android app store has 2.2 million apps and Apple’s app store has 2 millions apps? That’s a lot of apps! The good news is there are a number fantastic apps out there to help you plan, enjoy, and remember your family vacation. I’m excited to take the time to share with you a few of my favorites.

TripIt

TripIt

Keep all your travel plans in one place with the TripIt app. Forward your confirmation emails to plans@tripit.com and TripIt will create a master itinerary for you. It will keep your travel plans and calendars in sync and up-to-date. You can even use it to easily keep family and friends in the loop as well. This app gets rave reviews and is a great way to get organized before and during your trip.

GateGuru

Gate Guru

At the airport and want to know what dining options and stores are nearby? The GateGuru app can help with that. It has lots of great features including estimated TSA security wait times, flight status, and more. But my favorite feature is the airport food and amenity information with over 35,000 reviews. You can look up airport maps and see what restaurants, stores, and other amenities are near your gate. It makes quick trips and long layovers at the airport manageable and almost enjoyable.

Travelocity

Travelocity

When planning your family vacation, the Travelocity app can make booking your hotel, flight, and car a breeze. You can even find mobile-exclusive offers and access your booking while on the go. The Travelocity app is great because you can search over 400 airlines and hundreds of thousands of hotels worldwide. They also guarantee the best prices, if you find a lower price online, they will match it and refund you the difference. Not only that, but with the app you can access offers and promo codes that are only available in the app.

CamFind

CamFind

Traveling with your family and find yourself in front of a building and your kids want to know what it is, but you are stumped? The CamFind app is amazing! You can snap pictures of anything and learn more about it. It uses mobile visual search technology and works quickly with surprisingly accurate results. This is a great way to learn more about your vacation destination … and impress your kids too!

Mom Maps App

Mom Maps App

The Mom Maps app is brilliant in that it helps you find kid-friendly places when you are on the go. Is it suddenly pouring on your beach day? You can use this app to look up indoor family fun. On nicer days you can use it to find nearby parks, kid-friendly restaurants, museums and more. You can even view ratings and read reviews about the locations to decide if it’s a good fit for you.

Stack the States 2

Stack The States 2

The Stack the States 2 app is a great way for kids to learn U.S. geography. Road tripping or waiting at the airport? Kids can play this app and it’s so fun they don’t even know they are learning. Kids will learn state names, capitals, shapes, landmarks, flags and more. Once they’ve tackled learning all the states, there’s also a Stack the Countries app to continue the fun.

KidzOut

KidzOut

Traveling with little ones and want to know where to find the nearest diaper changing station, playground, or family-friendly restaurant? The KidzOut app is map based and makes it easy for families on the go. They even have a medical finer so you will always find the closest ER’s, hospitals, drugstores, and pharmacies.

Google Translate

Google Translate

The Google Translate app is incredible and a must have if you are traveling to a foreign speaking country with your family. Simply point your phone’s camera at the text you need translated and the app will translate it instantly.

Easy Travel & Family Photo Books

Easy Travel & Family Photo Books

Keep the memories of your family trip close at hand with the Easy Travel & Family Photo Books By Nowvel app. Once you connect this app to your Instagram account, it will automatically create a 4 X 4 photobook for you and your first one is free. The software detects when a special story is being captured — a vacation, special weekend, yearbook, and more. It’s a great way to remember your family vacation and one you can enjoy together for years to come.

These apps are here to help you plan, enjoy, and look back on the memories you created during your family vacation. Download them now so you have them on hand next time the travel bug hits!
