Transportation From PVG
As sleek as its neighborhood namesake, PVG is a well-organized hub of transportation for the city; there is even a museum in Terminal 2. In a city as big as Shanghai, you are going to have no trouble finding something to do. The People’s Square—or the Green Lung of Shanghai—is a 140,000 square meter garden-style plaza that hosts a convention center, theater, and the city’s government buildings. A living history lesson, Yu Gardens is home to a 400-year-old Ming dynasty property that offers a quiet afternoon in an otherwise bustling metropolis. The Xintandi neighborhood bridges the centuries with historic buildings transformed into modern shops, restaurants, galleries, and bars. After you fly in, you have many options to get downtown, some of which can be included in your Shanghai vacation package. While taxis are the most convenient way to get around, rental cars are available and several different buses leave from the two airport terminals. If you want to start your Shanghai adventure right after touching down, take the Maglev train to Longyang Road transportation center at speeds closing in on 270 mph! For a safer rail trek into town, hop on the Shanghai Metro Line 2.
