"Excellent location, easy parking, even in summer/June a few restaurants within walking distance are open. The onsen especially was wonderful to have on site, and of course the ropeway is next door. Highly recommend, would stay again."

Sapporo is located 110 miles (177 kilometers) outside Takinoue. It has other accommodatons including the Lake Shikotsu Tsuruga Resort Spa MIZU no UTA and Hotel Emisia Sapporo.
Coming from the main part of Takinoue, it is around 8 miles (12 kilometers) to the Takinoue Hotel Keikoku.
The larger Hokkaido area is definitely well worth seeing too. Hokkaido is well known for coastal plains, and other popular tourist places of interest include traditional villages. Travelers in this part of Japan can enjoy snowboarding.
Abashiri is 60 miles (97 kilometers) to the east of Takinoue and boasts Abashiri Prison Museum and Museum of Northern Peoples. The HOKUTEN NO OKA Lake Abashiri Tsuruga Resort and Hotel Route-Inn Abashiri Ekimae are some of the Travelocity-listed short and long-stay options in Abashiri. Or, you could stay the night in Asahikawa, 40 miles (64 kilometers) to the southwest of Takinoue, where you can choose between the Asahikawa Grand Hotel and Dormy Inn Asahikawa Natural Hot Spring. If you're staying in Asahikawa, be sure to venture to the Asahiyama Zoo and Asahikawa Museum of Sculpture.
Simply because you're on vacation, should not mean you shouldn't expand your obsession for sporting events. You'll find Sutaruhin Stadium 40 miles (62 kilometers) to the southwest of Takinoue. Book a hotel nearby to the action at the Loisir Hotel Asahikawa or the Fujita Kanko Washington Hotel Asahikawa.

"We (family of 3 adults) really enjoyed staying amongst the rice fields in this very clean, well set up apartment. The remote check-in instructions were clear and we were able to follow them easily. The bedroom downstairs and the living areas were well designed and comfortable. Loved the decor on the main level which made this place feel cosy and unique. We did not use the upstairs futon sleeping area because not even a child could stand up (we are all 170cm+) Used the shared laundry and found it very clean and functional. Would definitely stay again."
