Esta cabaña sobre pilotes del río es la escapada perfecta! A solo unos metros del río Tuckasegee pero también cerca de la ciudad, este refugio es perfecto para grupos que buscan tener una idea real del ambiente de montaña. The view and hot tub was the only good thing about this place!Master bedroom ceiling looked like it could come down anytime had pieces crumbing into the floor the bedrooms and whole house had a terrible musky smell almost like the home was molded which by the looks of the interior that was a good possibility if you stayed in the home for more than an hour you developed a headache, the air filter also looked as if it hadn’t been changed in well over a month. We braved it for one night but sat up most of the night going out for fresh air.The house was surface clean but had some deeper issues. We tried to get relocated but the local vacassa property manager told us she couldn’t relocate us because there wasn’t any real issue. And offered to bring over a dehumidifier which was definitely a red flag obviously they must of known the house had some moisture issues.I’ve tried to get a refund but have yet to get anything back because we only stayed one night of Our trip.

The property is kind of shabby, doors delaminating, mirror edges worn. The couch was very uncomfortable with springs you could feel when you sat down. Shouldn’t have to strip the beds and start laundry when paying that much.

The Cabin was very clean and the creek was so peaceful! The only thing I would suggest is to trim down the brush at the driveway so it would be easier to see oncoming traffic when pulling out of the property. Other than that, it was an awesome place to stay!

River Romance Cabin

Loved our stay here. Perfect location on the river. Cabin and hot tub clean. Communicated minor issues that needed to be fixed with company so they could be fixed for the next people. We would stay here again.

Gross hot tub and beds

We booked this cabin because of the hot tub, when we arrived the hot tub was on, however the water smelled like mildew and there was a nasty film on top of the water. We called twice about it and were told that they would have have someone come out to check the PH and possibly add chemicals, no one came. So we were unable to use. The beds had stains and the pillows were so flat and gross; we went a bought some from the local store and then just left them there for the next renters. Cabin had a smell as if there might have been water damage at some point. We left a day early and got a hotel room. Not the bear experience .

Trout fishing trip

Great trip for my husband, my son, and I. Cabin was perfect in both size and location for us to trout fish all day, every day from the yard. Truly enjoyed it. The best part was the location of the cabin and that it was right on the water.

Disappointing

This was a disappointing property. The location is fantastic. It sits right on the Tuckasegee River and is lovely. The deck and hot tub face the river, which is nice. The outdoor picnic shed is right alongside the river and the grill worked great.The cabin itself is old and shows both its age and lack of maintenance. The carpet in the bedroom was dirty. The bedroom ceiling needs work as it seems to have been crudely patched. Drawers were missing in the kitchen. The television in the main room did not work. These are just a few of the more notable things. Everything inside shows its age. Just suffers from a lack of care and attention.Overall this property wastes a lot of potential. Would not stay here again without significant repairs and updates.

Nice older cabin. Location was good. The cabin is not stocked well. Be sure to ask if it has what you might need or just bring everything you may need to have. If you enjoy fishing, you will like this place.

Awesome!

Exactly as described and portrayed. And exactly what we were looking for. Just the two of us so didn’t need a lot of space. Perfect location to hit the Tail of the Dragon and Cherokee on motorcycle. Awesome restaurants and shops nearby but not as packed as the Smokies and other locations. Awesome!!

Serenity for sleeping

Nice location along the River. Entrance to driveway is hard to see due to trees and curve. Clean. Repairs needed, but nothing that impedes a good night’s sleep. Balcony is a lovely place to chill and watch the water dance past.

Gorgeous spot on the river. Excellent fishing, quaint town, friendly people and great central location for exploring tge area. Cabin is a bit antiquated but the view and hot tub made up for the few flaws! The cabin was well equipped for preparing meals.

Beautiful location, rustic

Location is right on the river, beautiful spot. Best part is the hot tub looking out over the river. Quite rustic and could use a little TLC. Paint coming down from the ceiling in the bathroom and master. Overall though a nice quiet place, close to town. A good getaway for relaxing and nearby hiking.

Spend You’re Hard Earned Money Elsewhere

Similarly to the previous reviewer, I do not understand how this property has so many highly rated reviews. I’ve never had an issue renting through VRBO until this rental. The listing is deceiving & does not represent the property in its current state. Despite the staff still being on site an hour after check in time the property never appeared to have been cleaned. This is very worrisome considering we are still in the middle of a pandemic. The structure of the entire house is actually slanted forward and looks to be losing its structural integrity. The kitchen cabinets were damaged and had food and dirt crusted on them and the dishes provided were dirty as well. The refrigerator is old and rusting. The couch is very well worn and aged. The ceiling in the bathroom is peeling and falling down accompanied by a sink that has dirt build up. The hot tub is browning and looks unhygienic amongst many other issues with the property. The front door would not lock & we deemed it unsafe to stay in as well as leave our belongings in and left immediately having o book a hotel to stay in for our trip instead. We communicated our disappointment with management regarding not only the state of the property, the staff making us uncomfortable, as well as the safety/security issues. Their only resolution was to send the same staff out to clean the property after we discussed how uncomfortable they made us feel when we arrived. They also all but short of called us liars and told us the lock to the front door worked fine. I am accustomed to this style of lock and we tried a dozen times to get the door to lock & it would not. I typically don’t leave negative reviews… however I would hate to see someone else be deceived by this inaccurate listing and spend their hard earned money on a poorly maintained property like we had. We had intended to take a much needed vacation that instead turned into a stress inducing nightmare. Spend the money on a motel and spend less to receive the same experience. You can pay less for a nice reliable hotel room for less than this property is being booked for.
