Memorial Day Weekend Disaster – May 23–26, 2025
Our stay was extremely disappointing due to minimal communication from the owner and a long list of issues with the property. We regularly rent though VRBO and have never posted a negative review.Upon arrival, the floors were dirty, and the garbage was full and hadn’t been taken out.Many advertised amenities were missing, broken, or simply didn’t function properly.The guest cabin had no hot water in the shower or sink. We spent hours trying to troubleshoot this with no success.The grill was unusable: filthy, burnt food bits. filled with ash, and with no fuel provided. The oven does not work properly. Cooking was overly difficult.The spa/hot tub was ⅓ full, dead on arrival, and maxed out at only 63F despite hours of effort trying to get it to work.The smart TV remote was missing, making it unusable. The guest house didn’t have a TV as pictured in the listing.The home appears to be staged for sale rather than outfitted for guests—very few games, no kids' toys, or books were available as in the listing.The relaxing outdoor furniture and hammocks were removed. Only a moldy, mildewed table remained. We had to put in serious elbow grease just to make the space usable.There were exposed electrical junction boxes/wires at floor level, which is very unsafe—especially for families with young children.The listing fails to mention that the home is for sale, which likely explains why it is in such minimal staged condition.
