So I drove through the night, to get here before sunrise. Unfortunately the trail is closed until the visitor center is open, which was after sunrise. I was able to race down the trail and see why some 120-200 Navajo called this home at one point. It is perfectly placed to get shade through morning and a spring is nearby.

These trees were so contrasted with the red and gold cliffs and ground all around.

As I walked back up the path saw this dead tree. Even though I was only a mile or so away from the actual ruins, I could not imagine walking to and from that every day. It is thousands of feet in elevation gain/loss getting to the bottom of this canyon.
