Mallard Lakes is a community of townhomes on Lighthouse Road located approximately 2 miles from the ocean and town of Fenwick Island. 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms with 1.5 baths, screened or enclosed porches. Restaurants and shopping within close distance so you can relax and enjoy without driving.

Mallard Lakes charges a $150 amenity fee for parking and pool, from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Guests must go to the Mallard Lakes office to pay for it. Every other week during the year, the amenity fee is $100 per week.

No pets please. Smoking is not allowed at the pools. No trailer or boat parking allowed on premises.

This townhouse offers on level one a living, dining, kitchen area, powder room, laundry closet and sunroom with view of manmade lake. Level two offers two bedrooms and a shared bathroom.

The house itself wasn't bad. The surprise 150 we had to pay for parking and the pool was rather upsetting! Wasn't mentioned anywhere before we got there. There were a few minor things wrong with the house. When we called they came pretty quick. The pool was very nice.

The indoor decor was great however the dark paneling dimmed the rooms. But we knew that before booking. There were several minor fixes that needed to be done. One was the side panel of the counter next to the sink needed reattaching I. One place which we fixed with glue. On the indoor patio several of the panels were down and one part of the screen had come loose and blowing when there was a little wind. We also fixed those. None of these were a big deal but we did notice that when you enter the home a vent to the top left had something white growing on it. Since we weren’t able to reach it we could not clean it. My only suggestion for the owner would be to replace the wood paneling with something brighter. Overall our stay was great!

Would not recommend staying at this property

First I will tell you the things that I liked. The location was nice and the community was nice. The view from the sun porch was amazing. The dishwasher was nice. The unit we stayed in was not very nice. Outdated and all dark inside due to wood everywhere. After we got there and needed to do laundry we noticed that the carpet was getting wet. There was a leak. 2 different companies came out but no one fixed anything. The community maintenance was supposed to come and shop-vac the water out, that never happened. The shower was horrible, we had to clean the drain out. My grandmother couldn’t get into the shower due to the tub being so big/high. I would stay at the community again but not that unit.
