We enjoyed our stay at this location. Hotel is located in a central area and old town is walkable from this location. Parking can be complicated but there.are few lots in the area. I would recommend dropping off luggage before Parking as most lots are few minutes away (walking). Everything else was good and acceptable.

Awesome location close to bars restaurants and the cruise port , however room was very small and had black mold in the bathroom and where the AC unit is along the walls. The room should be maintenanced and cleared of mold before allowing guests to stay there.

It was in an amazing location. Small room for 2 queen beds. Bathroom was nice but awkwardly shaped. The room was facing the middle courtyard which was great except at night since the curtains were so thinnd it did not block the light. Other than that, great place, friendly people, and agaun, amazing location

Very nice room. Staff was very pleasant via text. In person, they seemed really over tourists. They were still helpful but we felt as if we were bothering them. Do not stay here if you want a quiet place to stay. We got a balcony room (Fortaleza Suite—which I’d do again in a heartbeat!) but it was super loud. The funny thing was we would receive an automated text about quiet hours. We always laughed at that because the noise always came from late night party people on the street. We loved our room—it was like an apartment with housekeeping. Clean, high ceilings which made it feel huge, well-stocked. The location is amazing. Very walkable. There is a great coffee shop 3 minute walk away—Cuatro Sombras (I think that was the name?) and our favorite breakfast place, Mallorca! Cafe con leche is amazing there, too! We would definitely stay here again—just bring ear plugs!

The hotel itself is very centric, everything is a 2 minute walk from you and the staff is very nice! If you are accustomed to a very corporate chain hotel experience with mass produced furniture this place is not for you. The building is very old, the furniture is very authentic and the lobby is very homely. Truly the only issue is something out of their hands which is the plumbing, the town is old. Their water pressure is non existent, so keep that in mind if that really matters to you, although I can’t speak about what that would look like for any other hotel in old San Juan.

We loved everything about this place! The location was great for us as Fortaleza sits right inside OSJ. We rented the 3 bedroom (2 bedroom/1loft), which came with a spacious bathroom, dining room, lg eat in kitchen w/bar counter seating, living room area, and balcony. One of the bedrooms has doors leading to the balcony so that was sweet treat for the person who occupied that room. Our suite which was on the second floor was a short two flight walk-up, there are NO elevators so keep that in mind if you have someone with mobility issues but the main floor has suites available as well (not sure what size though). Our suite was clean, beds were comfortable, bathroom was well stocked, the place felt spacious and definitely exceeded our expectation. The check-in/check out process was easy, we encountered 3 different front desk staff through our stay there and they were all friendly. Katie was such a pleasure and she definitely contributed to making our stay great. Fortaleza has a beautiful common area with seating, an open kitchen w/complimentary coffee/iced water, and a reasonable priced vending machine. There is a bathroom just a few extra steps away right outside in the lobby next to the front desk. We used the space while waiting for our shuttle driver to arrive. One aspect that stood out was how well Fortaleza communicated with us throughout our stay there. Reminders of quiet hours, inquiries of housekeeping needs, etc. were all sent via text. We loved that.
