Great experience overall, food was good, some restaurants had small portions for how much we spend. Some of the staff were to obvious when looking at females, staring obliviously in a unprofessional manner. Besides that everything else was good.

Our stay was absolutely phenomenal from beginning to end. The room was immaculate, the food and drinks were exceptional, and the ambiance throughout the property was nothing short of perfect. We truly couldn’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our time here. But what truly elevated our experience was the outstanding wait staff. The service was warm, attentive, and consistently above and beyond. A special thank-you to Super Yery, Ricardo, Emilio, and Alejandro at Wok, Felix at Capriccio, Omar and Natasha at the pool, and Jarol at the disco. Each of them brought genuine kindness, professionalism, and personality to every interaction, making our stay unforgettable. We left feeling incredibly grateful and already excited to return. Highly, highly recommend.

I would have gladly rated this resort a full 10/10, but a few operational gaps impacted the overall value proposition. First, the beach was completely closed. My primary decision-driver when booking was the ability to enjoy the ocean steps from my room, and that expectation was not met. The closure was attributed to “beach renovations,” but this was not disclosed at booking, which created a clear misalignment between the marketed experience and the actual guest journey. Second, although the property positions itself as an “All-Inclusive Luxury” resort, several on-site restaurants required an additional fee to dine. That felt off-brand and diminished the all-inclusive promise. The same applied to certain drink options—unexpected upcharges that created friction in what should have been a seamless experience. Lastly, during one of the evenings, the resort hosted a Christmas event in the Sanctuary town for an additional $30 per person. Again, if the resort is positioning itself as fully inclusive, it’s difficult to justify incremental charges for on-property events. Overall, the resort has strong potential, but these inconsistencies diluted the luxury value and impacted the overall guest experience. I do want to give a special shout-out to Alejandro from the Wok restaurant, and Denni from Blue Marlin who delivered truly exceptional service. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and above-and-beyond approach elevated every touchpoint of our dining experience.

This is my third solo trip, my second to The Dominican Republic, and unfortunately, I was wildly disappointed with my experience at Sanctuary. For an all-inclusive, I expected most things to be “all-included,” but there was a price of $10 to be paid every single time when ordering room service, something I haven’t encountered before. Although I was told that it wasn’t for the food, but for the transportation, it was disappointing considering the quality of the food. The breakfast potatoes were incredibly salty, overcooked, whereas the eggs and French toast were not appetizing. The restaurants such as the Blue Marlin and The Steakhouse had good food and I was pleased with it! However, the Sanctuary Town which consists of multiple restaurants were not included at all, which was another disappointment due to the price that was paid for the trip overall. Additionally, the jacuzzi on my balcony did not work and I did not bother asking for it to be fixed, because after viewing the state of the actual tub, which was dirty, I did not want to use it anyways. The staff were kind, particularly the lovely ladies at the cafe in the lobby, but apart from that, there is not much memorable about this resort. Personally, I would not return.

The room was very clean, staff was great, especially: Edwardo, Jacob , and Sandro the waiters at the Italian, steak house and breakfast buffet. All were attentive, personable, and kind. They really added to our stay. Joe the Bartender and Gineete the hostess at the Italian restaurant are spectacular. Really great people offering tremendous service. The main check in desk staff were great, just loved the experience.

Our stay at this resort exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed. Every interaction was warm, attentive, and professional—whether it was the front desk, housekeeping, or the restaurant team, everyone went out of their way to ensure we had an amazing experience. The entire resort was spotless. You can tell the staff takes great pride in keeping everything beautifully maintained. Our room was immaculate, the common areas were pristine, and even the outdoor spaces were kept in perfect condition throughout our stay. Beyond the cleanliness, the service stood out the most. The team was always quick to assist, offered helpful recommendations, and constantly checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. It made the stay feel personal and truly special. Overall, the combination of outstanding service, friendly staff, and an exceptionally clean and well-kept resort made this trip unforgettable. Our ocean view suite was beautiful. The housekeeping and concierge staff was amazing. The star of our pool side service was Omar. His service was over the top. He made us feel like we were the only people at the pool. Other servers were not as attentive on service and cleanliness around the pool. On the days that Omar was not working, pool staff walked by pool trash such as cups, leaves and a lime. The lime sat by the edge of the pool for two days. The best restaurant on site was Capriccio the service and food were excellent. The Wok also was very good. Service at the Blue Marlin was lacking and the staff tried to pass swordfish off as the red snapper. All in all we had a wonderful time.

Property is immaculate! Rooms are impeccable. They are clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The staff is over the top welcoming and always helpful. The pool areas are clean and accessible. Only negative is not enough umbrellas for those hot Caribbean days. Alcoholic drinks are readily available and service staff checks on you regularly. The beach area is small and was not accessible during our stay. I believe they are working on it to prevent further erosion. The restaurants are very good overall. The Italian restaurant is by far the best! The Steakhouse and Wok are excellent, I feel the Blue Marlin was below average. Although we didn’t always have a reservation at the Wok, we were always seated. Overall, a very positive experience and highly recommend it.

The resort is beautiful, clean and maintained but the food was just OK. Front desk did not give enough information about the resort, restaurants, and entertainment. Hotel staff were great! Everyone was friendly and helpful. Huge thank you to Felix, Ricardo, Sandro, Glory and specially Ginette who always greets us with a smile and enthusiasm. We were surprised and delighted to see that they went above and beyond to make sure we had great time and a memorable vacation there.

First off, kudos to the pool attendants, restaurant servers, the room cleaning staff, pretty much every one that made our stay worth it, except the concierge and front desk personnel, including the supervisor who did not greeted us. My wife and I were celebrating our 30th anniversary. We chose this hotel after watching a lot of videos in YouTube and social media. We were expected to be greeted with a welcome drink, explain all the activities available, a map of the hotel, wifi access, etc. Just basic info upon checking in. Well, NOTHING of the sort. Just a guy telling us that they have a room with two beds, with partial ocean view (even though the website says a junior suite, with balcony and ocean view) and there is nothing they can do, other than upselling us a suite with true ocean view for almost $400 a night. Not a great anniversary experience so far. Honestly, two big things stand out during our stay: The food is mediocre at best (except for the Japanese Fusion Restaurant). And the rooms are outdated and smelled humid. The beach was closed (we were not told) and will remained closed until further notice. As I mentioned initially, we had to mentioned it was our anniversary at the restaurants, bars and the pools that we started being noticed and congratulated by all the wonderful service staff. The hotel itself did not move a finger for us. It should not be advertised as a 5 star hotel, specially under the name Marriott. No difference with a Holliday Inn.
