"My wife and I stayed one night at Expedition Lodge for our anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The building has an older charm but is well maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was excellent — one of my top priorities when traveling. The mattress was firm yet soft, with no sagging or worn spots. Breakfast was different from what I’m used to but pleasantly surprising. I usually expect bacon, eggs, and biscuits and gravy, but this lodge offered creative local options like “Build Your Own Estes Park Deviled Eggs” and “Elk Jerky Green Chili.” I wasn’t brave enough to try the deviled eggs (which I now regret), but the chili was fantastic! I’ve never had chili for breakfast, but I loved it, especially topped with a little shredded cheese. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We arrived from Denver much earlier than planned after an early flight and reached the lodge around 11 a.m. I didn’t expect our room to be ready, but to my surprise, it was available, and they kindly allowed an early check-in — a lifesaver after being up since 1 a.m.! Thank you, Expedition Lodge, for helping make our anniversary getaway so memorable!"

"We stayed in the economy queen room. Though small, it was darling and had all we needed. Everything was clean and remodeled. There was a good sized closet for our luggage. It was a sweet place to stay."

"The interior of this hotel has been recently redone with tile floors and has a very European feel. I love that there is shelving - like an entire bookshelf - in the bathroom area for storing all of your travel gear and suitcases. When I checked in, they gave me a little brochure explaining how to use the room amenities along with QR codes for the websites to nearby attractions. I think one of my favorite things is that the room came with a softsided cooler that could be filled up with bottled water and ice in the lobby to take hiking. High altitude can really dehydrate you, so I love it that they are taking care of the physical well-being of their guests. Comfy bed and quiet. Cute place. Will definitely stay here again."
