Our room was very small and not as clean as I would expect. We found various things around the room like hair balls on the bathroom floor and french fries under the desk. The tv did not seem to have regular channels and everything had to be streamed.

Where to begin? Good breakfast in the room adjacent to registration, though selection was limited, and that room would have been hard to reach in bad weather. Staff was friendly and tried to be helpful, but wasn't able to help with several basic requests, for instance, erratic and limited television service, not including any streaming options such as Netflix, and no in-room telephone. The location was extremely noisy pretty much nonstop. We had no room service during our three-day stay, and when we asked for a clean hand towel and washcloth, the non-English-speaking staff didn't understand and pointed toward the office (which was up a long flight of outdoor stairs and about 40 yards further through the parking lot). Several items in the room were irritating, such as an extremely loud whistling sound from the faucet, a loud, rumbling ceiling fan in the bathroom, and a toilet that hadn't been properly cleaned in perhaps years. Water softener salt bags were stacked in a walkway, apparently unused, because the water was very hard. If we had been paying $75/night, I wouldn't have had higher expectations, but our three-night stay ran $643. My expectations were based on the Wyndham name. Don't be fooled. This is not a typical Wyndham facility, and not a 2-star hotel.

The room was filthy, I did not get the rooms I reserved, my family and I were in two separate buildings, and just before midnight on Friday night, they booked my room and I had people come into my room just before midnight.

Though recently renovated, its still an old property, simple rooms with no closets, and the days we were there it was being used by workers who slept there during the night, and worked in the area during the day. The bad part was when they were back, at one point three of them had a grill taking up a parking spot, as they grilled, drank, and yelled at a small screen as they watched a baseball game. The smell of weed was nauseating, the only good thing about the property was that the free breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. So though the rooms had been remodeled, it was still dated, the ac’s were still old, and it just wasnt worth the price. Will choose Holiday Inn next time I go to Petoskey.

Dated, needs paint, breakfast was free but not very good. No common area for our large group to hang out in together. Has to sit in the parking lot. Rooms are small so we couldn't hang out in those. They charged way too much for what we got. One family in our group went to stay at another hotel the 2nd night because the beds in their room were so bad and old.

Room wasn’t the cleanest. Even found a peach pit under the luggage rack. Bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way (too big), nor would it open all the way & the floor was sticky. Outside door wasn’t flush & you could see light all around it. Someone either spilled chunks of stuff, or threw up at the bottom of the stairs & we had to try to walk around it & it was still there in the morning. Large garbage bin right there was also overflowing from the time we arrived & still there when we left. I normally don’t complain, but after being a Wyndham customer for years, I found this appalling. The front desk staff were wonderful.

I have never been to a place that doesn’t have a coffeemaker in the room, The TV was difficult to operate and find anything to watch, the room has an outdoor corridor and looked nothing like the pictures. By far the worst room I have stayed in.

The "Just Get Me Through The Night" Hotel

If you're looking for a no-frills place to crash when options are limited, this hotel is okay. It got the job done for a night, and everything seemed clean enough. My main issue was the beds – they were really quite uncomfortable, making for a restless night. Fine if you just need a roof over your head, but don't expect a great sleep. On the plus side, the vantage point from the second story offers a truly impressive view.
