Honestly, because of multiple festivals and events that weekend, my first choice was sold out, but the Respite ad looked comparable and I got their last room…and that them made them sold out, too. The facility is nicely appointed in traditional art, antiques and decor. The room seemed much nicer than its pictures, so that was a pleasant surprise. Perhaps the spacious balcony porch with its padded rocking chairs was my favorite spot. The staff person person onsite was quite cordial, hospitable and competent, including their breakfast cooking. The Respite is also extremely convenient to the Convention and Expo Center. Now that a day has passed, I believe “Respite” is a perfect name for this jewel in Paducah.

Absolutely stunning!

We (my son and I) have only stayed at one other honest-to-God BnB. The Respite blew it away. The house is new but built to look older. With that new build, you get all the amenities (tons of outlets, HUGE room, private bath, etc). The beds were very comfortable. The room was quiet (I believe one other guest was there the same night but they were quiet and there are "quiet hours" from 10pm - 7am). There is even an elevator to help you get up to the 2nd story. We absolutely loved it, and loved Paducah! If I am ever back in Paducah, I am coming back to The Respite and not even considering a hotel. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

This b&b is great! The decor and themes of living areas are all so interesting and well done and the room was cozy and clean. We especially loved the billiards room! Staff was very friendly and smell of breakfast in the morning topped it off! Thanks!

Pick This Place!

I was looking at all the options, and vacillating between all the run-of-the-mill options. I finally decided to just go for it, and picked the Respite. What a blessing! Beautiful, quiet, warm, comfy. Street parking was fine. There was plenty and it was well lit and close. Their guest book was filled with 2 years of rave reviews. We’ll pick this on the way home, too.

Odd place

Overall our stay was acceptable; however, there were many odd features. The furniture was not appropriate for the room, with an old entertainment center that was empty and useless, a tv that was rather small for the wall it was on, no art, and no way to adjust the temperature in the room. Also, there was no way to get extra towels since there were no employees present. The website had given us the impression the building was old, but it was not.

This place was fantastic. This place did not disappoint and I would definitely stay there again. The service they gave was impeccable. They made our Thanksgiving with family one we won’t forget. Anything we wanted they were there. Lots of space for everyone. The inside is absolutely gorgeous. Loved it!!

Delightful, spacious, yet cozy B&B. Our room was very spacious (2 Queen beds), large sitting area and nice bathroom. There are several upstairs and downstairs sitting areas. Coffee station and fridge in the rooms. The host prepared a delightful, full breakfast. It’s about a 10 minute walk to central downtown Paducah (Market House Square) where most of the shops and restaurants are located. Only 3 blocks from the National Quilt Museum. The house is new construction, but in the style of the original period of the neighborhood. It was part of city incentives to revitalize the “lower town art district” to build or renovate homes to include art studios for local artists. We enjoyed our stay very much and would stay there again! Very reasonably priced.

Grand old Mansion on the main historic district. Neat to see the tall ceilings of yesteryear. Great breakfast and a wonderful stay. Would definitely stay again.
