Our family of five spent three nights in NOLA for a convention at the convention center.
Pros:
--This house was just a few miles away and easy to find.
--There was always easy street parking directly in front of the house.
--The host communicated well and was helpful in resolving issues. For example, when the air mattress and bedding were not in the apartment, the host had it delivered in an hour.
--The king bed is comfortable.
--The kitchen had basic cooking items, seasonings, coffee, etc.
Cons:
--Take the notice on the listing about construction downstairs seriously. There was nothing but floorboards between us and the workers, so every noise seemed like they were in the apartment with us. The one day they started at 7:30 am and didn't quit until 9:45 pm. The noise of their tools was so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves or the TV, and things were literally vibrating off the shelf in the kitchen.
--There is a rooster next door that started crowing around 3:00 every morning and didn't quit until daylight. Earplugs advised.
--The frame of the couch is broken, so it is impossible to use it as a sofa bed. We put the mattress on the floor, but even the kids thought it was uncomfortable. The listing says it sleeps six, but four or less is more realistic.
In short, finish the renovations, stew the rooster, and replace the couch, and this place will be a good option.
