The hotel is older. The rooms can definitely be updated. We were on the 15th floor (penthouse) very nice view but the room was average. Old looking, brown, scratched up wood. The curtains and drapes makes the room look drab. Not a lot to do at the hotel outside of the pool( which closes at 6) and the night entertainment is minimal. They need to have events for all types ( blacks, whites, other, old , young, etc.). Food choices were ok but not too many “non pork” choices for breakfast. Lastly, the “rsvp “ required restaurants were already booked every day, so we couldn’t get in. Overall, it was a nice to getaway but if I was to vacation in the Bahama again, I probably would not choose to go back to the RIU.

I didn’t appreciate the picture that I was shown on line and the 2 antiquated rooms that they tried to put me in after waiting in the Lobby for 4 1/2 hours. It was nothing like that the picture that I paid over $3300.00 to stay in. Although it was a package deal. I was very disappointed. I was exhausted from my travels and agreed to stay in one of the antique rooms for the night. The dresser draw didn’t close properly due broken furniture / dresser drawers being off track. The room had raggedy curtains with strings, some holes and not hanging properly. I did chose not to move the following day due to exhaustion. The food was great, the majority waiter and waitress staff excellent. there were some disturbance in the room next one day the people that they were fighting security was called came up and of course no one was fighting. Two days before I left the Next door neighbors they were fighting. Then the next morning were having loud 4 am sex and banging on the wall loudly with the headboard. when I was trying to rest at 4 AM in the morning. Young assigned to clean my room to the excellent job every day believe her name is Anna. Also the waiters and waitress in the dining room daily did excellent job serving. I was very pleased for their service. I tipped them eveday for breakfast lunch and dinner. The staff at the front desk Especially Marcia Excellent customer service. My private car service was. Excellent!!! They provided TOP customer service. I’ve stayed in a lots of Riu

The staff and facilities were lovely, the breakfast buffet was good and the jerk barbecue station by the pool was delicious. Unfortunately, all the other food and drink offerings were kind of crappy. I guess that’s what you get with all inclusive? Overall, it was a worthwhile trip.

I will start with the positives. The location is very nice. Beach is beautiful. The food in the buffet was very good as well as the specialty restaurants. Now for the negative. When we arrived the “ attendants” were too busy conversing with each other to bother with us. Eventually one did help us with our bags but without being the least bit cordial. It was the same with the bar tenders at both indoor and outdoor bars. The only bar tender with any professionalism was a gentleman named Anthony. To be treated with such rude servers and attendants at an adult only resort makes one wonder if there are many returning guests. I know for certain we will not be back.

Yes, the room was in good condition. All the staff were amazing!!! The entertainment was way too loud to enjoy!!!! A few things were not in working condition. Definitely room for improvement. Overall it was a nice stay.

The staff was absolutely wonderful. Polite, kind, considerate and always willing to help. I can't speak highly enough. The food in the Atlantic restaurant was incredible.

Room was always clean, the staff was amazing all throughout the Riu. The food was great. Getting ahold of the Riu the two days before we arrived was stressful. Our flights had changed and we arrive a day late. We were so worried they would give our room away. We called, texted and emailed to no avail. Even our travel agent was not able to get through.

Staff was all fabulous but the mater D at the steakhouse. He was horrible because we had the nerve to show up 10 minutes early for our reservation. The room was nice and clean. The food and choices were fantastic. The pool was a perfect temperature.

the room was fine clean and stocked but we needed an extension cord for one side of the bed for a cpap asked the front desk numerous times we were gave reply afrer reply with no results until late evening went the front desk again the manager finally disapears comes back with a brand new cord and I'm made to give a $20 deposit for the cord and a friend of mine got one for nothing and we were also told they only had one cord on the premises didn't feel as welcomed after this by certain staff after that other staff were superb in their service to all guests not sure if will return or look somewhere else on next visit to Bahamas

The RIU is a great place to stay. The staff at check-in, the waiters and waitresses are all very polite and helpful. The hotel is very clean and well situated on Paradise Island. As far as the food goes, the buffet has excellent food and something for everyone, whether it is breakfast, lunch and dinner. My only complaint is that they advertise five restaurants. We got there on Sunday late afternoon and tried to get into the other restaurants. The only one we could get into was the steakhouse on Wednesday, our last evening, so we could not experience any of the restaurants except one. The buffet was so good, so as disappointing as it was, you should not hold that against the RIU because of lack of access to all the restaurants.

Here is a long review. We arrived. As you check in, they hand out champagne. We got a new lady but very friendly. We checked in and we proceeded to our room. The ac did not work the first night. In the first night, the power went out 4 times. There are 4 restaurants but 3 of them require a reservation, and they barelt have any availability. The best aervice wr got was at the krystal by a guy named Neco. He was awesome. The 24 hour bar was good for watching thr games, although only Hugh and Kellen had a personality. The rest seemed like they hated their job. Its very easy to get a taxi right out side the hotel. The casino is about half a mile around the block. They wouldnt let us enter from the beacj and that was a mile wasted round trip of walking. But hey i got my steps in! . The service is medicore . I learned that the dollar is even so they dont care as much. The bed was extrememly hard. I had a tramatic accident a couple years ago which prevents me from sleeping any way other than my back. We had to call 3 times and then, 2 hours later, we got our extra pillow we requested but not a pillow topper. Our ac would kick in about 4am and be freezing in our room. We couldnt gage what to wear to bed. Another older couple said they had the same issue where it was hot then got freezing. The water is absolutely beautiful and clear. They dont clean the seaweed off the sand though. All in all- it was mrdiocre
