Called a week before to get rooms for my grandsons birthday. Asked about passes for the pool. I was told one thing but got there and you could only have max 3. Was told by front desk that no one could visit the hotel and if they did would be escorted of the premise. Got a call from general manager a few days before our stay to let us know there was no parties in the hotel as there was already 2 birthday parties happening. At no time did we say we were having his party at the hotel. We had it at Zero Gravity, we just wanted family to stay together for a fun night of swimming. We were told that no one would be allowed to swim unless they had an arm band out of the 40 plus children in the pool only 1/2 of them had wristbands. Front desk staff were rude. Hotel itself was wonderful and only problem was the check in process. Our family booked 5 rooms.

The hotel was just okay. Breakfast was limited—only eggs and sausage made by the attendant, and neither were ready when we arrived. Once they were cooked, they disappeared quickly. Other options were yogurt, cold cereal, bananas, waffles, and very hard bagels. The elevator stopped working, and although the pool was open Friday evening, it was closed Saturday morning during posted hours. The attendant also said no beverages in the pool area, not even water!

I have stayed at this same hotel for the last 3 years during the state fair. I feel the cleanliness was worse this year. I opened my room and it smelt like wet dog. And there were stains on the carpet. My guess this was a pet friendly room. That maybe the stains were from a dog? If so, gross. Also, there is ALOT of us that come down in groups. We are not allowed to eat in the pool area and too many for us all to be in one room. There was no access for us to sit in the breakfast area to eat.

Staff who greeted me was nice until I asked not to be on first floor because the carpets are smelly and worn. I asked for 2nd floor ( where I frequently stay.. it is the floor for business people. After a considerable time she gave me a room that was view to the highway free way bridge with constant noise and stop lights. The tv did not work. I went back to desk and said I wanted another room. The tv doesn’t work either. She can to the room and fixed the tv…. But shortly after she left… it could not be turned off. It stayed on all night. There were very few people in the hotel.. I could have been, better accommodated. I returned from being out and couldn’t get into my room. I had to go to the desk and the nice person gave me a new key. I asked what happened, I’d already been there several days. He apologized. He didn’t know. I have been there many times, this was not a good stay.
