Horrible experience! When we arrived on the 20th there was an overwhelming odor. We contacted the local manager who told us it was cleaning chemicals creating the odor. They sent maintenance to run an ionizer for 2 hours while we went out to eat. When we returned the odor was still too much for us, but management was unreachable. I slept in my car that night. The next morning, still unable to reach management, I contacted customer service letting them know we were leaving the property. They informed us they would not move us to a different property and refused to give us any type of reimbursement, which I wanted to use to book another rental. So, we left on the 21st at 10:30am and headed home. We could not stay in the home because of the overwhelming smell. Afterward, we contacted Vrbo, who informed us the owner would be the one to make the decision about any type of refund, but the owner was still refusing to give us any type of refund. I would never book this house again.

Disappointed in our stay here. You should know that this home is located on the HOT side of Lake Anna and the water temp when we stayed here (July16-26th) was 100.7 degrees. It is a literal hot tub and nowhere in this listing are you told of this. Literally, we nicknamed it Lake Lava. There was no relief for the heat in sight, especially not from the gorgeous lake in front of us. Aside from this major disappointment, the house is also not as pictured and described. Every cupboard and closet is a junk drawer. Everything is just thrown places...we had to reorganize the kitchen cupboards just so we could function. The walls have decorative stickers that are all falling off and askew, every wall is marked up and dirty, the baseboards have a summer of dog hair on them, etc. Not in love with the check in process and process of communication from Vacasa, either. We were never told how to access the boat launch and spent a day talking to neighbors to figure out how to get the boat in the water...to later find out there's a key fob at the house for the boat launch. Never told of this up front. Every question we had was a two day turnaround for an answer and often had to ask the question a second or third time.It was sad and we are disappointed. Lake Anna is a gorgeous lake and one of the nicest I've seen, just make sure to stay on the cold side where the State Park is located.

Memories

What agreat time to create memories for a lifetime! Family and firens enjoyed the venue next to the water. Swimming and fishing and good food. Nice yard to run or relax. Quiet and welcoming location.

Great lake property!

Great lake front home! Plenty of room for us to enjoy spring break with pur 4 grandsons. They enjoyed fishing, kayaking & playing on the beach. Kitchen had everything we needed & kids lived all the games in the basement. We hope to return!

Nice lake house

Overall our stay was great. However, I received no response from either hosts when I reached out in regards to the broken dining table on the deck upon arrival or when the tap water turned yellow. Pros: There are lots of water toys as well as the games in the basement. The beds were comfortable and there were lots of extra blankets. The kitchen was very well stocked with anything you could need including some spices, an air fryer, and griddle. The deck was amazing. Cons: Zero communication from hosts during our stay even with report of issues. Broken dining table on the deck. Furniture and decorations were very mishmash without any theme. The shower door and bathtub in the master were not cleaned.

Week at the lake

This home was fine for my family of 4 for the week. We enjoyed the small private beach, kayaking, cooking meals, and the views. The house is new so the bathrooms & kitchen are very updated. The house was clean when we arrived. The pictures were accurate for the home. - This house is on the warm side of the lake - look this up if you are unfamiliar with Lake Anna. - This home will be great when finished. The basement has some games but isn't a spot to hang out (completely unfinished). There is no deck from the 2nd floor so there are doors that go no where - be careful with young kids. We BBQ'ed but feels clunky going through the basement or out the front door around the back of the house to get to the backyard. - Bring some supplies. This home did not have some of the basics I would have expected (tissues, more than a few rolls of TP, dish soap for the week, etc.). We brought a water filter pitched because the fridge was flashing "replace filter". - No curtains/blinds on many windows gives great views but also means the neighbor's dock lights shine into your bedroom some nights and eating dinner at the table with sun shining into your eyes. - I had to text the rental company to get the access codes to enter the home. Thankfully they replied quickly. There are a few other quirks with some of the furniture. This home had what we needed for a fun week with our 2 kids. Wouldn't hesitate to return as these aren't deal breakers and hopefully some will be fixed in the future.

time away

Perfect location, could be a little cleaner

The house and location are absolutely perfect! The check in process was a challenge. We were never given a code to check in, when we contacted them, they gave us the wrong code. They couldn’t understand why the code was not working, and had us try it several different ways. Finally, after about a half an hour, and calling in, they gave us a new code. Meanwhile, it was raining pretty heavily. The property was beautiful and it was a perfect location. However, it was not clean. Food was left in the refrigerator, hair and buildup in the master bathroom sink, the dining room table and dishes were dirty. I was able to clean it quickly, just wish I didn’t have to. Overall, we were very happy with the stay. However, we would contact the property owner requesting for a more thorough cleaning prior to our arrival next time.

Excellent property and excellent customer service

We got confused because of the GPS and arrived at the wrong house, Customer Service immediately helped us. Then when we entered the home, it was spotless and organized. Instructions were simple and the home overall was beautiful and full of things to do and play. We booked it for Mother's Day and my wife had a wonderful time. Thanks for everything, Emilio

Lake Anna weekend

The house and property are exceptional. The vacasa company that manages the property gets a zero. Repeated requests for the check in code were given a pat answer f it was already sent. What was sent did not include the code. Finally 4 hours before we expected to check in, the code was given to us. However upon arrival, with a car full of freshly purchased groceries, the code did not work. A lot of trauma after spending the day in the car. Phone calls again, and eventually a new code was given. If I was the owner, I would find that unacceptable. Again, the property is great, the management company, not so much.
