Perfect place to stay!

The location is incredible. Easily walk to everything downtown, the views of the headlands out the north windows is just so peaceful and relaxing. The rocking chairs by the window upstairs was a nice touch. We really enjoyed our stay here. And our pup loved the yard out back. Even with 2 houses on the same property, there’s plenty of privacy. It’s nice that each rental property has a yard on opposite sides of the buildings so even the dogs get some privacy when they play outside (yards are not enclosed by fencing but they’re big and the streets are not very busy). Would absolutely stay here again!

Cute Cottage

Perfect location. Not a place to stay if you have mobility issues. You have to walk in from the street where you have space to park one car. The bathroom is three steps up from the living space, and of course, the bedroom is up the spiral staircase. There is a sofa bed in the living area that folds out into a bed for those who can't make it up the stairs. The kitchen really isn't a kitchen, think more along the lines of what you would get in a motel room...basic small fridge, microwave, coffee maker. There is a hot plate, but the counter space in the kitchenette is very small and I didn't attempt to use it. The main heat is supplied by the gas fireplace in the living area, and there are two other space heaters...one downstairs and one in the bedroom. Other than that, this is a very comfortable and clean rental. You can walk everywhere! As a bonus, you can see the Point Cabrillo light station from the bedroom! It's a short walk to the bluffs to watch the ocean and whale watch! Definitely a great place for a short-term trip to the coast!

Long stay in Mendocino

We enjoyed our 15 night stay at the Headlands Cottage. The location is excellent. The layout of the cottage was lovely and the cottage was very quiet. The cottage was relatively clean but not perfect. We had some trouble with spiders in the sleeping loft. Also, all the windows were dirty. The tv worked quite erratically, one day Samsung Chanels worked another day they didn't. The same for cable channels. The kitchenette was minimal. It needs some updating, including new burners. The refrigerator was very small and had a broken plastic insert for milk. It's probably great for someone who is staying for a long weekend. With all this said, loved the location and would return.

Great Stay For Christmas Holiday

My partner Becky and I - and our 2 year old pup - stayed here for the Christmas holiday weekend. The cottage was well appointed and warm. The bed very comfortable. We never needed the kitchen as we walked to our relatives’ home about a block away for holiday meals. The headlands trails were literally right out the door.l which our puppy loved. Would definitely stay here again.

Quaint solo stay

This cottage is cozy with excellent heater stove and beautiful views of the ocean and fields. Walk 3 mins to the outrageously wild waves hitting the coves. Good life coffee is up the street for coffee/breakfast/lunch and great dinners at Fog Eater and Trillium. Would come back in a heartbeat and stay here.

Awesome getaway in mendocino

Location and neighborhood is awesome. Highly recommended. Only gripe was the smoke detector which would go off in the middle of the night even if we were not cooking. Overall it was an awesome experience and would stay again

Wonderful Seaside Cottage

The Cottage was just perfect for our small family to stay a few days in the charming town of Mendocino. The seaside location, surrounded with striking views and stunning locations, provided many opportunities for exploring the area's natural beauty. We'd love to return to this property again :)

Talk to me of Mendocino…

You cannot beat this location if you prefer peace, quiet and tranquility. The headlands are at your door step. One can walk for groceries, restaurants, or to the beach. The people are friendly. The scenery is beautiful. The sounds and smells of the sea are everywhere. These accommodations are basic. The kitchenette is adequate, but cooking a large meal would be a challenge. The neighbor’s fence near the entrance should be fixed. Overall, our family absolutely loved our stay. We have a six-year-old daughter and a medium sized dog and all our wants and desires we met.

Good time inspite of a less than operational kitchen

For a 'cottage' it was nicely done. The bed upstairs was ultra comfortable, the sofa bed was almost unsleepable. The kitchen "hot" plates took more than 5 minutes to warm up and they didn't warm up much. Not great for us as we hauled in a lot of food to prepare in the cottage, but had to go out for meals.

Great property, fantastic location

This cottage was ideal for our family visit. It's the perfect size for a small family with comfortable bedroom upstairs and a great sofa bed in the living area. Everything was super clean and well maintained. The location was ideal for us, easy walking distance to food and shops as well as a beautiful trail along the ocean cliffs. Highly recommend!
