Mammoth Ski & Racquet Club

We always enjoy Mammoth and try to stay as close as we can to Canyon Lodge. The description of this location on the listing and it's proximity to the lodge is not accurate. It was listed as a ski in / ski out. The lodge is about 3/4 of a mile away and there is a long steep hill to get back to the condo. This is not a nice experience when walking in ski boots. The listing also did not indicate there were 3 flights of stairs to our unit. I suggest VRBO changes the description to reflect reality and not list this condo as a ski in / ski out. We found the condo to also not have been truly cleaned. We ran a vacuum in the primary living area as there was what looked like pet hair on the floor and carpet. Cobwebs were high and low and the window sills were very dirty. The bathrooms were not super clean, with the toothbrush holders, and soap dispensers having gunk inside. All of the cookware in the kitchen needed to be washed before use as they were dirty and had old food stuck to them. Half of the pillows in the bedrooms did not have pillow cases, and some of the blankets were crusty and smelled. The couch pillows in the living area smelled bad and should be thrown away. The primary bedroom bed is not comfortable and we woke up with achy backs each morning. The 2nd bedroom bed was not very comfortable and was very creaky. I felt like we needed to be completely honest with this property so no one else has this experience moving forward. Thank you, Dan Schmid

It was amazing

It was a great stay. Everything was amazing and it was dog friendly. The only thing we noticed was the bunk beds were not very comfortable. You could fell the springs and we had to use sheets to make extra padding. Everything else was amazing! All other beds were super comfortable, everything was clean, had everything you could need and the location was amazing. Didn’t realize there wasn’t an elevator but we did not have any ADA needs and got our steps in.

Good overall.

Older building with updated decor. Third floor, so quite a climb. Nice to have an assigned garage space. No Madness rentals was easy to work with and responsive if any concerns. Nice that was pet friendly, but well cleaned when we got there. Only issue was the kitchen towels and sponge. Overall positive experience.

Mammoth Lakes

We were supposed to check in at 4, but the unit had not been cleaned or beds made. A house keeping crew was called and worked very hard. We got in about 6:45 pm. Our cleaning fee was returned to us. I wish I had read that there was no elevator as it was 44 steps to the top floor unit at 8300 feet Elevation. My fault on not reading that part. The tv was awesome as well as the wife. Kitchen could use some updating. There were

A roomy condo in a lovely setting.

This was a good condo for us and our 4 grandchildren. There was a room downstairs for us and a loft room upstairs with 4 single beds (bunks) and another room with small windows on both sides (good ventilation) and a door for privacy. Three bathrooms and a roomy living room with puzzles, games, books and dvds for all ages. The complex has 2 jacuzzis and a pool and also a room with a pool table. The windows of this condo faced the woods and not the driveway. After a day spent outside this condo was a comfortable place to unwind.

The condo itself was nice but we had to climb 6 flights of stairs to get there, plus a large hill to walk from Canyon Lodge. After a full day of snowboarding, this wasnt what id consider "walkable" to Canyon Lodge. They could have been more forthcoming with this information. Also, the instructions emailed to me were different than or missing information from those on the refrigerator and those texted at check out. Consistency would be helpful. Lastly, the hot water heater was far too small for the occupancy of 8 people. We had 5 in our party and we were taking luke warm showers.

Bring your stair game!

Great place, but don’t plan on walking to the lifts (Canyon Lodge). Long walk but you can catch the free shuttle @ the bottom of a 1/4 mile hill.

Lots of stairs

The unit itself was good. Clean, had all necessary utensils. The only thing was that there were 4 flights of stairs to get to the unit. With the high elevation, it was a struggle.

Clean, quiet

Really nice stay overall. Pros: - Clean & quiet - Dog friendly, though you'd never know other pets had been there since so clean - Good heating systems, could keep rooms warm - Easy check in and check out - Covered garage parking (for one car) was really nice to have - Close to Canyon (~15 min walk) - if not icy (as up a big hill) - Well stocked kitchen - Comfortable mattresses - Great book selection especially kids books Neutral: - Some reviews mentioned the stairs; this really wasn't an issue, they were pretty easy to climb and carpeted/good traction Cons: - Bunkbeds in loft above living room, got a bit hot up there even with it colder in living room - Heater clicking on and off in the master bedroom was somewhat loud, woke me up on and off throughout the night but I'm a light sleeper - Up a big hill so if it's icy, it's a bit of a bear to walk back up the hill to the condo - Bedding was somewhat thin and didn't fully fit the beds

Nice Mammoth Lakes Condo

This is a nice place to stay. The description includes that this is on the "3rd Floor" with no elevator but realize that doesn't count that you start at the street/garage level and then go up 3 stories (50+ stairs). Just something to consider. The kitchen was well equiped, the beds were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

Great for Skiing, Very Good for Summer Stuff

The property is very close to Mammoth's Canyon Lodge and a 20 minute walk down to the Village. That makes makes it a great ski season destination but the walk back from the village will be at least a 30 minute uphill walk topped off by 50 stair steps to the front door. Overall the place is well maintained and for the most part everything is in good working order. Extra credit for the terrific china, flatware and little kids plates and cups. We mainly cooked in the condo and rarely went out so it was great. It had everything you would expect from a good condo in Mammoth. We're not TV people but there is a ginormous 6 foot diagonal flat screen in the living room.

Awesome location and spacious accommodations.

Great place for our clan and the dog. A lot of stairs to come back up every time the dog had to take care of business, but show me a place in Mammoth that doesn't have that. Amenities were great. Linens and bedding were plush and warm. Everything you need especially when you are socked in like we were over the Christmas weekend. A suggestion - It'd be nice to have a key hanger somewhere near the kitchen counter to set your keys on. Just a couple of hooks, that way your keys are right there when ever you need to go to the car.
