The house was cold and dark when I arrived at 7 pm at night . No porch light and only the bare minimum of the driveway and front walk had been shoveled . The back deck and steps were left untouched covered in ice and snow. I picked the first warm room and settled in. It was a day or two until I realized there was a nicer back primary suite which I decided wasn’t worth the move from room to room. The bathroom shower handle was broken in the hallway bathroom closest to my room so I could not adjust the water temperature . So I had a cold shower. I was able to fidget with the controls the next day to make it work. The property manager or owner said they could have a handyman stop by and I said I thought it was ok for now but they should have it fixed before next guest. The house is sparsely furnished ikea inspired no frills. Which if it had been summer might not have bothered me. The area by the tv was too cold for comfort and the couch looked worn. The steps to the back area had black and yellow warning tape . My best description would be : adequate , not cozy , fine for people with dogs .. The third night the pipes froze .. I had received an email sometime in the night to turn the water on so the pipes would not freeze .,I missed that email and I woke up to no water except the kitchen .,so no shower at all .. while I was gone during the day the water was fixed but they left the hot water on so no hot shower until right before I left in my final day around 3am.
