The first night of our stay, an adult cockroach approximately 1.5-inch (3.7 cm) long crawled into our bathroom and onto a toothbrush and other toilet articles that were on the counter by the basin. We were able to trap the insect in a Ziploc bag and give it to the front desk staff. It was gross.
On the positive side, the bedroom and bathroom appeared clean and orderly. The beds were neatly made, and the room-cleaning personnel were courteous and friendly. A spot-check under our mattresses showed no signs of bedbugs. The front desk permitted early check-in. At night, a guard kept watch in the lobby, and there were no homeless people anywhere near the front door. The hotel is within a block or two of some good eating establishments.
Room furnishings were minimal: 2 queen beds, a desk, and two small poufs but no chairs. The carpet of the waiting room outside the third-floor elevator had been removed. Overall, the accommodations seemed consistent with the price per night.
We liked the price and the clean appearance of the room; however, we might not stay at the hotel again because of the cockroach that came into the bathroom.
