Upon getting to Lancaster there was no communication from Ana the host. We had no idea how to get into our unit. The property was dark with no lighting or direction on where to go. Along the side gate there was log piles w/ spider webs, something covering the windows. Overall the back yard area where the suite is accessed could be described as more like what you would find in a developing country. Once we were finally able to get in contact w/ Ana, the wrong lock code was provided. Once inside the unit was dark, musty, HOT, dirty and unwelcoming to say the least. There were other casita style units in the backyard, both unlocked but vacant which leaves cause for non paying squatters to enter the backyard and or those units. When we could not get into our unit, there was an unkempt woman across the patio, when we tried to get her attention she hurriedly and suspiciously closed the blinds. After calling for her again, she cracked the door and told us we needed to get ahold of Ana but she did not know how to do so, weird and unsettling to say the least. After all this we opted to rent a hotel room as we did not feel safe and the room did not feel clean in the least bit. I kindly asked for a refund exception for the remainder of my agreed upon reservation and was willing to pay for that first night even though we did not stay. Ana was unwilling to acknowledge our discomfort or seem to care and stopped all communication. I HIGHLY advise to avoid her rentals
