"Amazing place! Definitely recommend!"

"Really good. I stayed here a few years ago and wasn't so impressed but as I got such a good rate (ridiculously cheap by European prices!) I decided to try it again. Seemed to be way better. It feels like they renovated the pool area and spa and room and bed felt way better. Super comfortable bed (way better than Leela Palace), very quiet, great pool, surrounded by beautiful trees (hard to believe in the centre of a bustling city) and spotless spa. Good enough breakfast (but not great compared to other five stars in Chennai, with more limited hot food choice and very cramped at the serving area). Fresh omlette was nice and coffee good. Nice foyer and terrific check-in staff (all staff were great, at spa / pool also). Facilitated a late check-out, as we were very delayed on arrival, without hesitation. Much appreciated. Definitely recommend. "

"The room was very nice, but the staff were the best. The concierge (Ishaq) was absolutely brilliant, helping me to sort out my ongoing travel arrangements and keeping an eye out to make sure everything went according to plan. The location is fine once you realise you are within easy walking distance of Little Mount metro station so you can explore any part of the city you want to from there (using metro and trains if you prefer that to cars, which I do personally). The local streets have some little eateries that are accessible and nice for dosas and other dishes that are served hot so ok for foreigners who can be ‘sensitive’ to local street food. Only thing I would have liked is a quiet place to have a beer at the end of the day - the bar was a bit noisy for me. The breakfasts I highly recommend - absolutely delicious, great service & reasonably priced. Also good to see staff hired from very diverse backgrounds, including people with different abilities. I will stay again. "

" Spot on for any guest looking for a clean and tidy room, amazing staff always with a smile and ready to do anything for their guests, the love and hospitality they bring to the hotel is so special, I hope that people looking for a hotel in Chennai should stay at the Madras Grand to actually experience the kind of experience that I have enjoyed missing all of the relationships we shared with the amazing staff and thank all of you for the love and respect,Charles Tilaka "
