The room I was assigned was wide open when I arrived at it and didn’t have hot water. I tried calling the front desk to tell them but the phone didn’t work. I used a phone in the hallway. I was told they’d send someone from maintenance to my room. A short while later a maintenance man came to my room and told me it would take some time to fix the problem and that a new room was assigned.
When I went to the new room the door was open. I went in and picked up the phone to let the front desk know the door was open. I picked up the room phone and it didn’t work. I called the front desk to let them know the door was open using a hallway phone. They offered to send maintenance to check on the phone issue. I told them it wasn’t needed and told their manager the phone issue in two rooms is a significant security problem. He didn’t seem to understand the veracity of the situation until I specifically told him someone could get assaulted while picking up a room phone that doesn’t work.
