Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities
So, first off, I slept well and the place was quiet. The staff was kind. The place looked great from the outside. It was also close to the downtown area, which was nice.
Our room smelled. It smelled like smoke and smelled like old funk. To be fair, the staff did offer another room but we had already settled in and were very tired from a 12 hour drive. We stayed two nights and it always smelled. Also, it wasnt super clean. There were stains on some of the walls and ceilings. The bedding was clean. There are some chairs in our room that should be tossed. They're gross. We planned to swim as it was very hot but they said the pool was being repaired or renovated. It didnt say this when we booked the room and we should have been offered at least a discount or somthing for that but weren't. We were disappointed with that. The AC was good, though it smelled at first. The water pressure in the shower was good and the water nice and hot.
Overall, it's not the worst place but it definitely could use a major remodel. But if they can't afford that, they should definitely take the time to deep clean their rooms. The previous hotel we stayed at was similarly old but it was so clean, it immediately made a great impression.
Disappointed by the pool issue. You pay for the room and the amenities. It feels a bit like a bait and switch.
