"The property is beautiful! The rooms are newly renovated and staff were amazingly attentive. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Whiskey selection is top-shelf (ask to see the hidden whiskey vault). Only rated 5-stars because 6-stars wasn’t an option!"

"Fake tan stains were in the bath from previous guest. Hot water took almost 10mins to come on. Outdoor had a few broken planters and weeds coming through the floor. Kitchen was closed for maintenance so there was no food options until breakfast the next day. I could hear people going in and out their rooms until about 2am and then starting again at 6am. I have stayed previously and was impressed but this time just felt like lack of care was given."

"The staff were all excellent in their desire and efforts to help. The room however was well below par with wallpaper on the ceiling in the early stages of peeling off and the bathtup separated from its bottom molding and haveing suffered a failed attempt to glue it back together with a glue filled gap still prominent. The food is the restaraunt where I muse say again the staff was very good was quite poor, with aa burger (probably just following Scotland wide desires/regulations to protect me from myself) was the worst I have ever in my life experienced, cooked to an unpalatable and tasteless state and the cheesecake of the day desert more the consistancy of week old pudding than anything resemblink actual cheesecake and with a crust thick and dry. It was actually sad seeing what looked as if it had once been a confortable Inn and pub reduced to this level while the staff gamely tried to keep things going."
