The location is good, but could be noisy depending if there are parties going on the the grass market area. There is no airconditioning, but I guess in Edinburgh that may not be needed. They do provide a fan if you need one. The bathroom is small. On the other hand, the staff was very nice and accommodating. The breakfast in the hotel is a steal and very good.

The staff was very accommodating to hold luggage, help navigate an early arrival. Very friendly anytime we had interaction beautiful room great view of the Edinburgh Castle. The location is great. Definitely recommend staying here.

Great location for sightseeing and many restaurants nearby to the hotel. Warmly welcomed by the rubber duck in our room and it’s wonderful and heart warming to get a free gift from this hotel. Unfortunately our sink and toilet flush are both not working properly and water almost overflow in the sink. We approached the reception and they quickly fixed our sink for us. It will be better if we didn’t come across this kind of problem on our first night then we would rate this hotel with five stars. Another recommendation is that no rubbish bin found in the lounge and the waiting area so we had to take our rubbishes either to outside or to our room to bin them. This can be improve by the hotel very easily for customer’s convenience. Thank you very much for the friendly staffs at the reception for directions and helping us to post our postcards (we had attached stamped on them) .

First time to Scotland on a solo trip. I loved it and I loved this hotel. Very comfortable. There was a door next doo that kept slamming over and over and maybe needed to be fixed. Once those people checked out, it was peaceful. Next time I’ll book a castle view but it was really nice. Food was delicious at the hotel. Loved the iced tea and water containers as you walked in. It was a nice touch after a long day of walking. I was also grateful for the button at the desk to call a taxi to Waverly Station. . Very helpful.

The property is in a great location with a great view of Edinburgh Castle if you pay a little extra. There are many excellent restaurants and pubs within walking distance. The people at the desk are really friendly and helpful except for one cold grumpy guy who doesn't seem to like his job nor people in general. There are steps up to the reception desk but you can take your bags up a ramp to the left of the front door to avoid carrying them up the stairs. The rooms are clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

Disappointed 😞

Tired and in need of some TLC. Fabulous view of the castle, a shame the windows are filthy so you can't see it properly! There used to be a nice seating area and 2nd bar area by the lifts, its now just a storage area for junk as is the car park. I reported a leak in our room but noone was interested. I think this hotel gets by on it's location. We won't be back :(
