Dijon Hotel & Travel Guide\n
In the Burgundy region of eastern France, the city of Dijon offers visitors a rich history with a distinctly medieval flair. Francophiles from all over the globe flock to this elegant and aesthetic town for its must-see attractions. From museums to palaces, Dijon is a great choice for history and architecture buffs alike.
Visiting Dijon
The hotels near Dijon can be easily reached from Dijon Bourgogne Airport (DIJ), just 13 miles away. This small airport is also a historic WWII air base. A more common choice, though a bit farther away, is Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG), and you can reach all the Dijon hotels by train from CDG. Because Dijon is a bit more contained, you may want to explore Dijon rental cars once you get there to enjoy a quick and easy way to travel around the area. Once you've checked in at one of the great hotels in Dijon, you can start your Burgundy adventure with a visit to the famous Musée des Beaux-Art. This gallery, built over two centuries ago, is home to impressive ancient Egyptian artifacts as well as a piece by Monet. Those who appreciate the finer things in life will also want to explore all this famous wine region has to offer. From vineyard walks to tastings, there's plenty to do for amateur sommeliers. Finally, take a moment to bask in the medieval history of the area. Dijon is home to a myriad cobblestone streets, cathedrals, palaces, and townhouses that look straight out of the Middle Ages.

Holiday Inn Dijon by IHG
"We liked the hotel, the room and pool area. We didn’t find the staff welcoming or friendly. The check in person was okay, but not real friendly. The hostess or manager in the restaurant was horribly rude. We never went back to the restaurant due to her. The pool is difficult to access because an elevator is broken so you need to go through a dark remote stair case, or walk through the restaurant. The hostess/manager person did not like people going through the restaurant, but it wasn’t the guests fault that the hotel has it set up this way. Breakfast isn’t included and is expensive to add it on. There is an awesome shopping plaza next door with a grocery store. We bought breakfast items there and ate in our room. Next time, I’ll look for a hotel where staff are kind to their guests."
