The bed was comfortable. It was VERY humid outside, but the AC didn't really eliminate the humidity in the room. It felt cool AND humid inside, which wasn't very comfortable.

The decor was attractive. Our room was nice and clean and well stocked. Quiet despite several sports teams staying there. Staff was cheerful and helpful. Did not use the pool. There was a gas fire pit outside with Adirondack chairs for lounging and a variety of games in the comfy lobby. Breakfast was OK, biscuits gravy, scrambled eggs (were dry), cereals, oatmeal, asst. rolls, danish, toast, coffee, juices. Would stay there again😊

The Wildwood Lodge has an appealing design and the rooms are quite comfortable. There are a variety of eating establishments within walking distance. I greatly enjoyed the hot tub and the landscaping around it. I was quite disappointed in the breakfast. The main course was a gloppy, salty biscuits and gravy, matched with a nearly solid chunk of grits. The pastries were of the lowest, most adulterated variety: think dollar store chocolate-ish donuts. All served on Styrofoam, which is completely at odds with the backwoods, organic feel of the lodge. The bad breakfast greatly lowered my rating for the Wildwood Lodge

We've stayed at Wildwood probably 8 or 10 times. Our experience has always been amazing. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean, and the continental breakfast is fresh and tasty. We travel from Colorado to Ohio at least once a year, sometimes twice, and this is always where we stay during our drive.

Awesome!

Wildwood is a great place to stay! It is always our go-to when we come to Des Moines. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and the breakfast is delicious! We also enjoyed sitting around the fire at night, it’s very cozy!

Great Experience

Will DEFINITELY stay there again!!! Very clean, the property was "kept up", no visible signs of disrepair. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was very good and they kept it replenished. Check out wasn't until Noon (very convenient).

Great place. Has a strong up north cabin feel to it. Clean, organized, staffed well. Breakfast had a lot to choose from hot or cold, coffee was great and the reception area is huge. A lot of big tables to play games or visit. Close to everything without being in the middle of everything.

50th Anniversary Getaway

We love staying at the Wildwood Lodge! They keep the 2nd floor as pet free. Their hot breakfast in the morning is really good! The bed was so comfortable and we enjoy the gas fire pit outside!

Beginning to be a little dated…

We’ve always liked this hotel, but it’s beginning to be a little dated. The night we were there it was filled with loud family, gatherings, kids, and teenagers. Breakfast is never great, and that hasn’t changed. Does not accommodate gluten-free.
