This is Lake Sugema. So, There I was. In Iowa, fir the second time in my life. Trying to find a place to camp. I wanted to camp on a small lake or river so I could fish. I planned on spending a couple days relaxing and fishing. First I headed into Iowa planning on staying at a campground about 70 miles west of here. but I forgot, some places don't open until Memorial Day, and that place was closed. So East I headed. I found this place as a fluke, Driving down Highway 2 there was just a small sign with a tent on it and left. Having no idea, I went left and found an absolutely amazing campground. it has about 7 tent sites, which is what we used, and about 20 full hookups. AND WARM WATER SHOWERS!!!!!! The water in the lake was still cold enough nothing was within casting distance from the shore, but during the summer this small lake boasts some of the best fishing in the state. More over, it is a man made lake and as such there are trees out into the lake. So after hiking around the area I went to taking some photos. These two shots are the same. black and white and color. They are about 2 minute exposures to even out the water. Tell me what you think. Like B/W or color?
Found this bridge while exploring. It used to be a railroad bridge, transformed to a buggy bridge, and not after restoration is a walking path bridge. It stretches over a hundred feet and while walking you can still see the old railroad and boards for the buggy.
The Greef house is just one of many houses in the small town where you can read the history of who built the house and also who lives there now. The town in just a small collection a few historic houses. It has a small all local made art shop and grocery where almost everything is made locally.
