This is our first house rental managed by Vacasa, although we have rented many, many houses through VRBO. Others have not had nice things to say about Vacasa, we didn't experience problems with the property managers. They were prompt with answering our emails about our problems, although not fixing things fully. The house itself is spectacular in the surroundings of woods, and has a terrific porch. The issue is... well, we shouldn't have had all these problems with a house this nice. I'm not sure if it's the managers or the owners who have neglected some things. For instance, like making certain lights work (many did not, 3 out of 4 switches are non functional in the upstairs bath) and fixing the hot water problem in the downstairs shower, which has been mentioned in reviews for months. When we arrived, we were met with a broken window in the basement, apparently someone had attempted to break in (one of the Vacasa employees claimed it was a previous traveler who had locked himself out.) That's a bit bizarre. Fix the lock so that shouldn't be able to happen. (yes, you can deadbolt yourself out of this house, there's a warning about it on the front door!) Fix the darn window, if you know about it, don't leave it for the rain and rodents to come in! I had to call to ask them to cover it up. We opened the garage door because of the smell, and then it wouldn't close. And why was there still wet stinking wash (used towels from the previous people) in the washer, and the dryer not working? Shouldn't the housekeeper have reported this previously? We had no use of laundry, and not enough clothes. The closest laundromat is 30 minutes drive away. (Did I mention the non functioning light in the laundry room? Try doing laundry at night in a wet, dark basement with a broken window and rodent poison boxes everywhere). Creepy. What a wonderful house that is less than 20 years old, too bad it is being neglected like this. I almost want to call up the owners and ask them to sell it before it's too late. But I don't want it, in fact, I don't want to come back. Ah well. Close to lovely, but a definite miss. We actually checked out a day early, and wasted our money. Out of clothes and out of patience.
