It was too expensive for what we’ve got. We got a shared bath room and someone was living there and made the commons space already messy (not cleaned enough, especially bathroom).

The Farrington Inn has a wonderful staff and is located near the Harvard Ave train stop. The room we stayed in had a private bathroom, kitchenette, and comfortable bed. It was a great place for the price! We would definitely stay there again!

Great neighborhood! Quirky place. Interesting!

I loved the neighborhood. This place was dingier than I expected, and I arrived after dark, so the parking was a little hard to see. The building didn't feel 100% safe. There was a bit of a dilapidated and sketchy feel to it. The check in took a very long time, and the people living there were very nice, but just that...living there. No big deal, but security felt a bit loose, children were running about, a weed smell (I didn't really mind), and when I entered my first floor room, the windows and storm windows were open to the outside. It was snowing, so this was unusual. The room had a space heater, which was off when I got there, and a radiator at the head of the bed, also off, but that started at some point in the night, so I was cold at first, but warmed up well by 2am or so. Shared bathroom was ok. I LOVED the quirky old furniture and decorations, but the effect was a little bit off. I can't quite explain it. The front desk guy, who was very wary at first, was actually great when the blood curdling screaming started at about 1am. So I was VERY GLAD that he was on duty...and noted that the wariness comes with the territory. He was right there at the neighboring room from which the screaming was coming. He was AWESOME, banging on the door, asking what was wrong, asking them if he needed to come in there right away. Telling then to be quiet. I am pretty old, and have never stayed at a hotel with such a fast response to noise. He was the best! And I wasn't afraid at all.

I've stayed at the Farrington probably 50 times for work. It is a funky place but I love it. Clean but maybe the blinds will be bent or the desk will have a drawer that doesn't open. I don't care, it is close to BU, it's unbelievably cheap for Boston, and the staff are really great. When I stayed there every week for work, they would remember that I needed extra pillows and bring them out without my asking. Last week I called in a panic because I couldn't find a hotel on the way from NC to Boston and I called them at 11am asking if they had a room for me at 2am. "No problem, come in!" was the answer. I'll stay there every time I go to Boston!

Looks like the management either do not care or do not know how to run business, care about the place and respect their guests. All needs to be properly clean, refurbish and give care. It's such a missed opportunity for great inn...

I was completely satisfied with what I paid for. Perfect for ovation and cost to explore the city. Not glamorous , but just fine for me. And they were incredibly nice, easy to deal with and bent over backwards to work with me on my dates and travel schedule due to work issues. I have zero complaints.

Needs a lot of work.

The stay wasn't the greatest. The Inn needs a serious make over. There wasn't enough towels. They need new beds. Window shades falling apart. The entire room and bathroom was not clean. There was hair on the bathroom sink. Refrigerator was dirty. Tiles cracked and falling apart. The last two nights was not a good because all we heard was noises. I dont know what else to say. If you're looking for comfort, this Inn is not a good place to stay. We are very disappointed.

the place is located in a good area, but I don’t know how the place is open still. the bathtub in the bathroom is clogged, so when taking a shower your feet are deep in water in a bathroom that everyone else uses. everything is so old and does not look clean at all maybe because of that?
