We stayed for 5 nights and it was fantastic. Big thanks to Samuel at the front desk for making it extra special. Room was extremely comfortable - shower and bathroom super clean. Spa was nice during the cold of the winter. Included breakfast was very good but could have used a little bit more variety. Service was solid - whenever we ordered anything, it arrived minutes later. And location is unbeatable - walking distance to everything and trains readily available a block away.

Noise AF. Didn’t sleep a second. The windows are right next to tram tracks and the trains run 24/7 every 5 minutes all night long. Zero soundproofing in windows.

We were so happy with our stay at this beautiful hotel in the heart of Basel's Old Town. It was within easy walking distance of everything we wanted to do, had very welcoming and helpful staff, and was so comfortable. I will definitely plan to stay here again on our next trip to the city.

If you are visiting Basel the Marthof is the perfect choice. Charm, location, clean, spacious rooms. Close to everything and most tours start from here in the area for convenience or a short 10 min walk. Restaurants galore from all varieties and cultures. The staff is excellent. The breakfast is buffet wonderful. I promise you will love it!
