Peaceful and Private

This house was perfect for us - 3 friends in town for an event in Auburn. The location was a peaceful, country setting. The backyard area with pool and hot tub was excellent - beautiful view and it felt 100% private, other than the wildlife we saw throughout the weekend - added bonus! The big living room space and open kitchen made for a fun area to hang out. I tried to reach out to the owners once (text and through VRBO app) because there wasn't a Keurig coffee maker as the pictures showed (drip instead). I didn't receive a response, but I may have used an incorrect number or something - it wasn't a big deal and we made it work. No complaints otherwise, we had a great stay!

Beautiful property

First trip to Auburn for a friends get-together and it was important to us to have enough space and that there be a nice pool. This property delivered on all accounts. Very spacious house, including a studio unit that has two extra beds. The primary bedroom was huge. Well stocked kitchen, BBQ grill out back, nicely decorated rooms, comfortable beds with nice bedding, and good air conditioning. There’s a tennis court, which we didn’t use but it’s a great option. The owner was very responsive and checked in via text to answer any questions. Because of the heat, the pool was our main enjoyment and the views from the backyard across the valley are incredible. At night, you can see a million stars and we swam late into the evening. Auburn has a cute old town, with shops, restaurants, pubs. We highly recommend this property; it would be especially nice to visit in the spring or fall, when temps are a bit cooler, if only to enjoy the killer views from the hot tub!

10/10 would stay again and highly recommend

What a beautiful and relaxing getaway! Nice large pool and the weather was perfect for swimming! Pool temperature was great, even in the early mornings! Hot tub was also a perfect way to end the day after tennis, and pickleball so bring your rackets!! Beautiful birds and deer around the area. So much peace and quiet!! Town isn’t far and has a ton of great dining options for every meal of the day if you don’t feel like cooking. If you do want to cook this home has both indoor and outdoor options covered. We took an amazing hike to a nearby Dam and really can’t say enough about what a great trip this was! Price for value is well matched. I would not hesitate to book again and cannot imagine anyone leaving this property unsatisfied.

Best kept secret!

We loved this home and hope to visit again next summer. The sunset is amazing and we appreciate the home decor and pictures of the home owners. There were a few minor issues that the property owner had no control over and was in clear communication with us via text. The air conditioning worked great and it was over 100 degrees for a few of the days we were there. We will definitely be back!

Sunset Heaven

This property was in a very peaceful spot not close to neighbors. Very quiet. The view from the living room overlooking the pool and deck is beautiful. There was plenty of space for our 5 adults and 9 month old baby. Everything you need is there. The backyard is kept up immaculately. Lots of different areas to relax at. My son who is 25 enjoyed staying in the separate what we called “apartment” and having his own space. House is close enough to go to stores restaurants but out far enough to get peace and quiet. The sunsets are amazing. My husband loved it so much, he said if they were selling this property I would buy it. If you want a place for peace and relaxation, this place os it.

Spectacular view with awesome amenities!

We were attending a family wedding in Auburn. The home was conveniently located between Auburn and the venues we were utilizing for the wedding. We needed an early check in and owners were very accommodating . Well appointed home and perfect for outdoor entertaining. Would highly recommend this home to others!

Great views and lots of space

Met up with work mates for a few days. Saw some spectacular sunsets off the deck, spent time in the hot tub, generally got to hang out in the comfortable living room. Did some hiking at nearby regional park that was outstanding. Private, quiet, nice property.

Great family getaway

Wonderful home for an extended family getaway. Tennis court was an excellent perk. Hot tub was also great. Home is beautiful, great views, very nice property, and nice layout with an open floorplan and kitchen. Only downside is the 4th bedroom is in a separate structure, with no bathroom, but if you're prepared for that the home is amazing. Lots of sleeping space with the 4 bedrooms, great open kitchen and living room, beautiful views. Very large lot and the pool and hottub are beautiful. Tennis court is also a great feature. We would definitely stay again. And also great responsiveness when we had any questions. Also, the home has every comfort. It's apparent the owners take great care of the place and enjoy it themselves.

Has potential but disinterested host and lack of AC ultimately ruined trip

A rude, uncaring, and disinterested host led to an unacceptable stay. I booked 2 weeks out. Before booking, I asked if the AC cools the house. Then, before the stay, the host said that the central AC will cool the house to 20 degrees lower than the outside temp. I relayed my disappointment to the host. He told me that all AC units do not cool homes more than 20 degrees than the outside temp. I live in Sacramento & that isn't fact. I've rented Vrbos in 105 degree outside heat & had the house cool. Since the trip, I’ve spoken with a technician at an HVAC co who said that it isn't the outside air temp as the host stated; it is the air temp inside the home that matters. I could not cool the house in the early morning when it was 80 outside as the host overrode the system. The lowest temp setting was 75 so it got to 82 degrees in the living room in the afternoon. The host is misinformed re AC & we had a hot stay. I tried to avoid a hot home in the first place by reaching out before booking. The ice machine was not working during our stay. I told the host. In response, I received a screen shot of how long it takes ice to freeze. I found this disrespectful; of course ice is not created instantaneously & this did not solve the issue. We went to the store twice for ice during our stay. We would have been fine with getting ice as issues happen but would have liked a respectful response or solution. The power went out during our stay. This was a utility issue. Host sent us the alert message from the utility co & said that we were on his battery backup. He said that we still had power because of his battery backup for another hour. I informed him that since the utility power went out, the battery backup had not kicked in. He simply informed us that the battery backup was now exhausted. That was 35 mins after his text saying that we had an hour remaining. How could the battery backup be exhausted, we just said it never kicked in? Tesla battery backups can last for days. I wasn't angry about the lack of power, I was angry with the host being disinterested. The hot tub did not work during our stay. The pool crew confirmed this. We set the temperature to 85, the temperature the host suggested setting it at, & it was still well above 105 degrees even hours later. There were no coffee/tea pods available for the coffee machine. Why list the coffee machine if there are no pods? The property has potential but our trip was undercut by the host and lack of A/C.

A beautiful private escape for our family

We wanted a private place to escape to with the family. This was the perfect place. We usually head to the beach for spring break, especially for the beautiful sunsets. Well I can say, we didn't miss a thing. The view and sunsets here are absolutely stunning! We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening under the stars.. And of course the tennis games got a little competitive by the end of the week. Although the last day got cold and stormy, the woodstove kept us feeling cozy inside.

Amazing

The view at this property is magical. From Sunrise to sunset we just couldn’t get enough of this view. The house had plenty of room for 5 adults and two little ones. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to make all our meals. It’s a great location where the drive in feels country but you’re only 10 minutes from Target! We can’t wait to stay here again!

Paradise in Auburn

We wanted a place to relax, cook, eat, and hang out, and this beautiful home on the top of a hill in Auburn felt like paradise. From the airy, light, open feel of the home itself with beautiful views from every window, to the exquisite yard with pool and spa, we felt like we were on a vacation in Tuscany. Meticulous, welcoming, thoughtful hosts. Can't wait to go back!
