We really enjoyed our stay at this home and would definitely book again. It's very comfortable for a family. We had 2 adults and 4 kids ages 16-20. We spent a lot of time fishing off the back deck catching pin fish/catfish/black drum and feeding a blue heron that showed up each day for breakfast and dinner. Being on the canal was SO worth it and the walk to the beach was just down the street. The backyard is very private as well. The pool table got a lot of use from our teens. The pool and spa were wonderful!! We also liked having ALL the light switches labeled! A few little things that would've made our stay better but definitely won't deter for us booking again. We LOVED this house!
** A beach umbrella/sun shade/ shade ninja etc. We really appreciated the beach cart and chairs, but we traveled 10 hours with a packed car, so a tent/umbrella is just something we couldn't bring with us.
** The two right burners on the induction stovetop didn't work. We reported it the first day and they said maintenance would come take a look, but it was never looked at. We cooked 90% of our meals, so only having two burners was inconvenient, but workable
** Instructions for the TV. There were 5 remotes in a bowl. Thankful the 20-year olds figured it out quickly.
** A way to turn-off the door alarms. While I understand the safety behind it, it caters to a small % of families (those with very young kids) who are obviously taking on the responsibility themselves by booking a house with a pool/canal a few steps away. Hurricane Elsa set-off the alarm at 2:30am with a window that opened just a crack. We thought it was some sort of hurricane alarms going off, very frightening in the middle of the night. THEY ARE LOUD!
** Providing a little more of the needed things so they don't ALL need to be bought for the week....scissors/tape, saran wrap/tin foil, spice rack, trash bags etc. There is NOTHING besides the few starters of tp, dish soap, laundry packet. Just taking 1% of the rental fee and providing some extras would have been the cherry on top.
