Sofitel Athens Airport
"Have stayed at this hotel annually multiple times for over a decade Greeted by a smile and genuinely caring Mario at front desk He unfortunately noticed we had a glitch with our reservation and immediately said he would speak to management to try to help us He addressed the supervisor less than a meter away in front of us and she responded in greek to him .. she did so without looking up at us once despite being in front of us nor showing empathy for issue…we could tell by his red face he was embarrassed by the lack of professionalism the supervisor exhibited. He then asked if we heard her answer to which we said didn’t understand.. she did not attempt to address us herself rather made him deliver her message of lack of willingness to even try to help He later on his own found a gesture as he knew how frustrating the glitch was for us. He did so with professionalism and compassion Usually staff is good from top down they say however in this case the opposite is true and the supervisor could learn from Mario courtesy and professionalism even if delivering disappointing news. He is why we would return"
