"We have always had great experiences with hotels.com but this was a little rough. This place is not very well kept up. One of the closet doors upstairs was missing. The wood interior needs refinishing because there are a lot of blemishes and not in a fun rustic way. More like your old aunt’s home ..."

Rustic Luxury Along the Illinois River
"I will absolutely stay here again. When you drive up the cottage is absolutely charming with a very inviting enclosed front porch which comes in handy. The reason mosquitoes you can open the screen door, leave your things as you are unloading and then at night you can leave on the front porch light to easily open the front door. There is a circular driveway so no turning around you just drive away. There is a cute entryway with two chairs where you can slip off your shoes so everything stays nice and clean, which opens into the living area. To your right up a stair is the dining room where we spent most of our time on through to a good sized kitchen. Off the kitchen you will find a nice laundry room so you don’t have to go home with dirty clothes if you choose. Off the dining area is the first bedroom with a very comfortable queen bed and ample bedding, pillows and a nice size closet. If you turn to the left of the dining area there is a short hallway the first door on your left is the first bathroom complete with shower. On the right is the fully stocked linen closet. At the end of the hall is the primary bedroom with a super comfortable bed with brilliant linen s. This bedroom has a walk in closet with plenty of room to hang your things plus shelves to stack anything that is folded. I felt right at home. The primary bathroom has double sinks, great lighting a full length mirror and best of all a shower curtain you don’t have to fight."
