2/10 Terrible

I booked The Campbell Hotel because it’s advertised as a “historic boutique hotel,” but the reality was far from what’s shown online. The room was large, but the white ottoman was torn, the sofa had a concerning stain that looked like male bodily fluids , and the toilet seat was old, worn, and discolored. The bed was comfortable, but it was covered with so many throw pillows that the only place to put them was on the floor, making the room feel cluttered.
The curtains were extremely heavy and attached with makeshift wires, and when I tried to open them, they fell completely off the wall. The bathroom sink had zero counter space for basic toiletries, and although the shower was large, it had visible stains that looked like mold or mildew. The step up into the bathroom is also a tripping hazard, especially at night.
The room’s split A/C and heating units were difficult to control. When I arrived, the room was freezing; after warming it up, the unit wouldn’t cool back down or turn off. I had to call the manager at 8 p.m., and even she struggled to fix it.
On top of everything, Route 66 is currently under heavy construction, and if your room faces the street, expect to be woken early by loud equipment and constant noise.
When I reported these issues, the manager (John Michael) simply said that renovations were coming soon. Unfortunately, that doesn’t help guests staying now.
I wouldn’t ever recommend this hotel and it should be removed from the Expedia platform.
