Arrived about 30 minutes before check-in. When I asked if I could check-in early, representative told me no because they had been very busy and I would need to wait. Less than 5 minutes later she stepped out and smoked a cigarette.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I apologize that you felt we did not take care of your concerns in a timely manner. When we are sold out it often does take some time to have rooms cleaned and available for check in. After review with the desk agent on duty she apologized for the misunderstanding and noted that she was looking for you to get you checked in after getting a cleared room from housekeeping but did not see you and did take a smoke break at that point. We have discussed this and hope to offer a more acceptable service for our guests.

There are repairs in progress. Carpet in hallways were extremely dirty. Hopefully, that is on their list.

I've been to better Microtel. Its clear renovation was happening on the outside but it also needs to be done on the inside. The room wreaked of old cigarette smoke (which I do understand is hard to remove), a whining barking dog down the hallway, and a bathroom that looked like a kid cleaned it. We stood at the desk for 10 minutes for someone to greet us. Although she was friendly, it was obvious we caught her at a bad time.
