The staff went above and beyond to help me with my needs. As a traveling nursing mother, i greatly appreciated the accommodation of bringing up a mini fridge for my breastmilk upon request and helping me print out music I needed for an audition. Extremely friendly and helpful. There were a few outlets that did not work but the staff promptly came up to help me find the working outlets and made note to fix them. It might not be the newest facility with the most amenities but it is very clean, remodeled beautifully and the staff make the stay excellent. I did not get names but everyone was so helpful. Thanks all!

Wow! What a fantastic stay at The Cartwright Hotel! Located right in Union Square, it’s the perfect spot for exploring San Francisco. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming to me and my daughter, and the hotel itself is beautifully maintained. The parking garage is absolutely worth it super convenient and easy access to every mode of transportation. Big kudos to the owners and team for running such a great place!

We have 2, small senior dogs. When we travel, they go with us. We specifically chose the Cartwright Hotel in San Francisco due to their website claiming they are "pet friendly". Our first day there, we checked in, got the dogs settled, and then left the hotel to see the sights. Upon returning to the hotel a few hours later, at approximately 6 pm, we found we had been locked out of our room. The front desk had done so because they said they did not have our phone number. They wanted to let us know that our dog was barking and another visitor had complained. The man at the front desk told us that our dogs could not be left unattended. He further advised that if it happened again, they would need to take action, to include contacting animal control. Not sure about you, but having our dogs seized and taken to the pound was not an option for us. We did not take a vacation to sit in the room with our dogs the entire time. And we feel it is an unreasonable expectation that we would take them everywhere we go. I requested a refund to avoid any further issues. The man at the front desk said we would be charged one night, but he would notify his management that we should receive a refund for the remaking few nights. We then checked out and went to an amazing (truly pet friendly) hotel, the Stay Pineapple. I filed a claim with Expedia, who did try to help us. Unfortunately, the Cartwright'management refused to issue any refund. If you have a dog, go elsewhere!

Staff was super friendly and helpful, room was clean, and nice big street-view windows. It's an older building but the furniture and bathroom were updated. I can forgive not having a fridge in the room.
